New live-action Street Fighting is on the way to your screen.

Joey Ansah, Jacqueline Quella, and Mark Wooding — the team behind the live-action web series Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist — is now on board with eOne to produce a new live-action Street Fighter television series, this time based on the events of Street Fighter II: The World Warrior. Ansah wrote and directed their prior 12-episode live-action web series and Wooding and Quella produced it for Machinima; it proved to be a quite popular transition of the Street Fighter setting and characters to live-action — something the big screen movies haven’t pulled off yet.

Mark Gordon — eOne’s President and Chief Content Officer for film, television and digital — spoke to Deadline Hollywood about the project:

Street Fighter is a global tour de force franchise, having garnered immense worldwide commercial success and built a vast devoted fanbase that has only grown through its 30 year legacy. We are thrilled to be teaming up with Joey, Jacqueline and Mark, who are already so deeply connected to this brand, to bring this adored story to television audiences everywhere. A particular strength of Street Fighter is the wide range of ethnically diverse characters and powerful women featured in the game. It will allow us to build an inclusive and engaging TV universe.

After a long search, guided by the team behind Assassin’s Fist, we are delighted to be partnering with a company with the outstanding TV experience of Mark Gordon and eOne. They have the credentials to help us launch a faithful adaptation of Street Fighter as a major TV series.

Those looking for some high-level Tekken 7 action are in for a treat this weekend with the Japanese Tekken Pro Championship. This double-elimination tournament will see eight of the best Tekken 7 players in Japan fight it out in a historic tournament.

Participating in the tournament will be Yamasa|Nobi, Yamasa|Take, Yuu|Yuu, Noroma, Hakaioh, Ao, Double, and Pekos. While this level of talent should be notable enough, the other unique thing about this tournament is that it will be the first Tekken tournament under Japan’s new professional license system.

On top of the pride of winning the first “pro” tournament under the system are some very generous cash prizes. The winner gets ¥600,000 (approximately US$5,7oo), 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place are given ¥350,000, ¥150,000, and ¥100,000 respectively, while everyone 5th place and below earns ¥75,000.

The tournament itself will start at 5:45 PM Japan time, March 24th (that’s 1:45 AM Pacific). For those interested in watching, the tournament will be streamed in both Japanese and English on Twitch. The Japanese stream will be on Bandai Namco Entertainment channel, while the English stream will be on their Tekken Channel. English commentary will be provided by Bandai Namco’s Michael Murray, as well as MajinObama.
