Some hands-on reassurance that Super Turbo won’t be racing out of control in the Anniversary Collection.

After expectant Street Fighter fans saw the preview footage of Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection from PlayStation Underground, some concern arose about the speed that Super Street Fighter II Turbo appeared to be running at in the demo build — despite being played at only speed setting #1, Super Turbo was looking a little too turbo.

James Chen is on site at Final Round 2018, where Capcom has presented a build for attendees to try for themselves. Based on his own hands-on experience, it seems that the speed Super Turbo runs at is not actually as skewed as it appeared to be in the PlayStation Experience demo, thankfully. Have a look for yourselves in the video below!

We can also see in Chen’s video that a “versus” mode outside of the regular arcade mode structure is available for Super Turbo, the apparent lack of which was once of Maximilian’s criticisms in his time with an early build.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is expected to hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC in May 2018.

It looks like exposure to Android 16’s super moves can have an unintended side effect…

Seasoned players of Street Fighter II will probably remember the (potentially infuriating, at least for your opponent) “handcuff” glitch that Guile could perform to freeze up a helpless opposing character mid-match. While different in execution and effect, it seems that a glitch that shares at least some of the handcuff’s spirit is present in Dragon Ball FighterZ, too.

In the video below, rooflemonger explains and demonstrates Android 16’s own variation on the handcuff theme: when Android 16 uses his level 1 super, if the opposing character is at a specific range and tries to use a deflect, the result may be a strange, slow, and irresistible attraction towards Android 16 for a period of time. The opponent can still attack, but can’t move away from Android 16 until the effect wears off.

The glitch was reputedly first discovered by kamoihito.

Arc System Works has officially launched their new Instagram account. The posted embedded below is the first image ASW has posted:

The image has the ArcLive show logo, so presumably, it’s the date for another character reveal — that would be consistent with the closing tease of last night’s character reveal trailer. The pixelated “mosaic” can only leave us guessing as to who will appear, but personally, I feel like I see Kokonoe in the upper right corner, and maybe Nine on the left side of the image. Let us know who you think is in there!

Lastly, in case you missed it the other night, the recent ArcLive episode featured company president Minoru Kidooka. Along with James Chen and Mike (the translator) the three share a celebratory “Let’s Rock” wine and answer fan questions. They largely talk about the philosophy behind BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle and how integrating a few franchises is a strategy to bring more fans into the BlazBlue franchise, which more or less officially ended after 10 years with Central Fiction (at least in terms of the main story). Kidooka mentions being open to fan feedback and shaping the series based on what the company hears. Near the end of the stream, the president gets to show off his Tekken 7 skills, which he picked up from Katsuhiro Harada himself during Evolution 2017.
