The original Guilty Gear will be rocking out on PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch
A new opportunity to experience a Guilty pleasure.
The latest stream from Arc System Works’ Japanese Twitch account revealed that the original Guilty Gear is coming to modern consoles. Guilty Gear was released in 1998 — celebrating its 20th anniversary today — on the original PlayStation, and set itself apart with its strong rock ‘n’ roll vibe. The game includes ten unique characters along with Baiken, a secret boss.
Arc System Works has not yet mentioned a release date for this gem, but you can catch about 20 minutes of gameplay below. You can definitely see how the spirit of the original has been well-preserved in its latest edition, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2.
This announcement is definitely exciting, but don’t forget that Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R is also coming to the Nintendo Switch. Hopefully, that title will find its way to PlayStation 4 somewhere down the road, too.
