Echo Fox|dekillsage voted into Dragon Ball FighterZ Summit of Power, and current standings

And the votes have it!

After the first three rounds of player voting for Beyond The Summit’s Dragon Ball FighterZ Summit of Power concluded, we now know the first player that has been officially voted into the competition.

With a massive lead of 9,035 votes, Echo Fox|dekilsage has been invited to the Summit house (alongside eight other invitees, and a series of qualifiers). Today (Tuesday, May 15th) the remaining top 2 vote-earners will also be invited to the Summit, with another two players eliminated from contention, narrowing the field to just 4 eligible Z-Warriors.

Already, SX|EMP RogueYoshi (186 Votes), SQ (257 Votes), Kane Blueriver (381 Votes), Teemo (435 Votes), NinjaElephant (677 Votes), FP|Chavo (733 Votes), PAG|Fame96 (797 Votes), UYU|Kizzie Kay (1,334 Votes, Crescent|Doza (1,603 Votes), brkrdave (1,830 Votes), and CDV|WhiteBl4ck (2,186 Votes) have all been eliminated.

Current vote standings, as of this writing, are as follows:

  • UYU|Cloud805 – 7,317 Votes – Will be invited to Summit at end of the next round
  • PsrK|BeyondToxin – 5,708 Votes – Will be invited to Summit at end of the next round
  • CLN|Yohosie – 5,279 Votes

  • PAG|LostSoul – 2,602 Votes – In danger of being eliminated

The currently ongoing round of voting ends Tuesday, May 15th, at 2:00 PM PT (4:00 PM CT, 5:00 PM ET), so make sure to cast a ballot to keep your favorite alive. You can cast your vote, and grab some limited edition SoP merchandise at smash.gg. The talent lineup has also been announced. The Last Chance Qualifier will also be held at Combo Breaker 2018 May 25-27 in St. Charles, Illinois.

The Summit of Power takes place June 8-10th in Los Angeles, California, with a $10,000 prize pool up for grabs!

Radical Heights – It Appears Boss Key Employees Were Not Forewarned About Studio Closure

A series of Twitter posts from (former) Radical Heights Lead Producer Ron LaJoie seems to indicate that he did not know that Boss Key Productions was closing until he was told by his 10-year-old daughter. She sent him a copy of the press release from Cliff Bleszinki where he announced that Boss Key was “effectively shut down”. It is unclear whether other employees were told ahead of time or not.

Locke Cole from Final Fantasy VI is Dissidia Final Fantasy NT’s second DLC character

Square Enix has revealed the identity of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT‘s second DLC character! From the SNES classic Final Fantasy VI (or Final Fantasy III as it was originally labeled as in the USA) we have none other than the “treasure hunter” Locke Cole.

Locke — a treasure hunter, who definitely isn’t a thief — was shown off in a trailer as part of Square Enix’s recent live stream. For those who aren’t familiar with Final Fantasy VI, Locke is one of the first characters players get to use (unlike later titles in the series, FFVI doesn’t really have a central “main character” per se), and helps start off the events of the game when he’s recruited to rescue Terra during the game’s opening mission.

In addition to the trailer, Square Enix also detailed Locke’s alternate costumes and weapons. You can check these out, alongside some new artwork from legendary artist Yoshitaka Amano, in the gallery below.

With the reveal of Locke, we now have only 4 remaining DLC characters. The hints that Square Enix have given about their identities are as follows.

  • New female character
  • New male character
  • Female character who previously appeared in Dissidia Final Fantasy series
  • New male character

All of these characters will be from the latter half of the Final Fantasy series.

Locke is set to arrive on Dissidia Final Fantasy for arcades on May 17, followed by Dissidia Final Fantasy NT on PlayStation 4 in June.
