Knuckles the Echidna joins the cast of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate — as an Assist Trophy
Knuckle up for the next character to join Smash Ultimate’s illustrious roster (sort of)!
Nintendo’s upcoming title Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Switch already boasts one of the largest rosters in fighting game history, with already 68 characters announced (depending on how you count Echo Fighters). And a new character from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise is now being added to the mix — but not as part of the main roster.
Joining the blue streak Sonic is sometime-rival Knuckles the Echidna, entering the fray as an Assist Trophy. Knuckles famously made his first appearance in the Sonic series in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. While only screenshots have confirmed his appearance thus far, they do show off that Knuckles will have an uppercut similar to Mario’s to attack with when summoned.

ARIKA shares details on the incoming Fighting EX Layer patch
Last week, ARIKA announced that a patch was incoming for Fighting EX Layer; now, they’ve dropped additional details on what the patch may be addressing. In a series of tweets on the game’s official Twitter account, ARIKA have listed possible changes that are coming to the game in the patch, based on people’s feedback.
The changes include fixes for training mode (possibly including the After Guard recovery issue that our own Crow_Spaceboy reported on), as well as the aforementioned character bug fixes, as well as some others. We’ve compiled these all below.
Modifications:
– There is a stage where process dropout occurs when having Online Match (not all but some PS4)
We are very sorry but we will remove this stage from Online Match until we figure out the problem.
– Hit Status of Sanane’s “Yayoitoukongi”
▼Changed the all 5 hits status to “Blow Off” (In Japanese we call it “Fukitobi” but I did not know what to call it in English, sorry)
– Bug of Hit/Throwing moves
▼Fixed her throwing move (ignoring a distance)
– “Desperation” Gougi was applied to Hard Attack.
▼We will modify so as not to apply.
– Because of Hayate’s Atemi, some moves were not able to hit so we will modify this.
– There was a mistake in the method of displaying the Training flame so we will fix it.
These might not be all the changes in the patch however, as they’ve also stated that there may be more changes that they will share once the patch is out.
Other adjustments will be reported after updating.
(If you can not understand the meaning or if I made a mistake in English, please ask or point out to me.)

Additionally, ARIKA has also stated that they are listening to players’ feedback and considering their suggestions, but that implementing these might take time.
We are considering other requests such as additions and corrections positively, so it might take some time but we are glad if you wait.

World of Warships – Developing in Leaps and Bounds
Wargaming is widely recognized as the company that created the iconic game about tanks. It’s also known as the creator of World of Warships, a game about ships created in the same historical setting. It represents the largest fleet in the gamedev world to date, and the developers clearly do not spare any effort expanding it further.
