Fighting EX Layer will have an official side tournament at Evo 2018

Fighting EX Layer was announced as a real game on the main stage of Evo 2017 last year, so it should come as no surprise that ARIKA is continuing to work with Evo. Specifically, FEXL will be getting an official side tournament at Evo 2018!

No specific details yet for the official Evo 2018 side tournament for Fighting EX Layer have been revealed — the only thing that has been confirmed is that it will be at the Side Stage at Evo.

As the tweet above states, more details on the official side tournament at Evo will be revealed at a later date.

Fighting EX Layer is now available for PlayStation 4. Meanwhile, Evo 2018 will be taking place at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV from August 3 to August 5, 2018.

Rukia from Bleach will be playable alongside Ichigo in the upcoming Jump Force

But what about Sosuke…?

We already got our first confirmation that Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach series would be playable in Jump Force via Shonen Jump; and while we also knew that Rukia Kuchiki and Sosuke Aizen would be included in the game in some capacity, Bandai Namco has now officially announced that Rukia will also be a playable character in the upcoming arena fighter.

From the press release:

Coming out of E3 2018, gamers and anime/manga fans got a glimpse of the wild crossover battles that will surely ensue in JUMP FORCE. Today, we’re adding another level of action to JUMP FORCE’s character and franchise line-up with the announcement of Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, and Sosuke Aizen from Shonen Jump’s beloved BLEACH series. Both Ichigo and Rukia will be playable as the best-known Soul Reapers from the BLEACH series. However, the nefarious Sosuke Aizen will also be entering the JUMP FORCE world, so sparks will certainly fly when these three meet in battle.

We’re also revealing a new stage in which these explosive anime battles will take place. A new Hong Kong stage has been added to the roster of real-world locations in which these powerful characters may meet to do battle in JUMP FORCE. The Hong Kong stage blends characteristics from one of the world’s most modern and dynamic cities with elements from the One Piece world, creating a truly unique setting for battle.

So, it seems that Aizen will not be a playable character, but time will tell for sure. Meanwhile, have a look at these new images of the fighters and the new stage.

Final Fantasy XIV – Heaven on High Preview

Long-time readers of this column will know that if there’s one piece of content I’m keen to talk about, it’s FFXIV’s Deep Dungeon. Palace of the Dead was the subject of my first post, nearly two years ago, and it’s something that’s remained really close to my heart. I maintain that hitting Floor 200 is one of the most satisfying activities you can do in XIV, and my willingness to do so again now is only dulled by the fact it caps out at level 60.
