When I first saw the announcement of Marvel Battle Lines I found myself conflicted. I was excited for the possibility of a sort of Marvel answer to Hearthstone, but cautious of Nexon’s involvement for fear of heavy-handed P2W elements. Alas, Marvel Hearthstone isn’t what we got. Instead, Marvel Battle Lines is closer to enhanced tic-tac-toe.

– Discord Opens a New Beta Storefront & a Unified Launcher

Discord is ready to take Steam on head-to-head with today’s opening of a brand new storefront. Today’s offering is a collection of titles that are favorites of the staff, but the number of games for sale will increase over time. In what is probably its best feature, however, Discord will, at a user’s request, scan PCs to see what games are installed and place them in a single location. It’s sort of a “virtual bookshelf” and will allow games to be launched from a single application.

Perfect World Entertainment and Echtra Games have great news for ARPG fans: A NEW Torchlight game is in the works! Called Torchlight Frontiers, the game is being developed by Max Shaefer, one of the co-founders of Runic Games, the original developers of the Torchlight series. Torchlight Frontiers is a “shared-world action- RPG” that brings back signature features and mechanics from the beloved series.
