Capcom launching new weekly Street Fighter stream from ESA Oakland: Capcom Connect

Will Namco respond to the growing backlash against Create-A-Souls in Soul Calibur VI’s ranked mode?

Soul Calibur VI‘s reception has been fairly positive, much more so than previous entries in the series. That doesn’t mean there aren’t complaints, and there’s one argument — particularly coming from within the FGC — that seems to be gaining traction. SCII Legend Aris’s video on the subject captures the feeling best:

There’s a growing discussion surrounding the fairness of Create-a-Soul in the ranked battles of Soul Calibur VI. As has been understood in past versions of the game, these characters possess different ranges, hitboxes, and hurtboxes than the characters their styles are based on. Note that “different” doesn’t necessarily mean “better” — you’re practically nerfing yourself if you make a CaS Astaroth, and the game has built in modifiers to make taller characters deal less damage — but it only takes one dropped combo on a weird anime wife for that fact to not matter. (Not to mention that you could cover your character in animation obscuring objects.)

This isn’t necessarily a new topic — in the past,  the SC community wrestled with the legality of everything from SC2’s console specific characters to SC4’s bonus characters. In the era of patching and with Namco keen on keeping up the reputation they’ve built up with Tekken 7’s success, though, the vocal backlash against CaS in Ranked might actually be enough to get a response. It certainly worked with Tekken’s input lag debacle sometime ago — so if this ruins your Ranked experience too, now’s the time to sound off.

After Months of Silence, Wild West Online Revives as a 2-Piece F2P Title

The Wild West Online forum has a post from one of the developers after months of silence. In it, “MrBlack” said that in August, development on the game effectively stopped with most employees remaining unpaid for three plus months. In the intervening weeks, there was no money left to continue and the remaining team searched for partners or financing. After much searching, a new partnership with Free Reign Entertainment has been struck and development will be restarted.

Version 03.091 patch brings faster CFN response times, a revamped Dojo Points system, and more to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition

As previously noted, the long-awaited input delay reduction patch was finally implemented into Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition following yesterday’s period of server maintenance, which updated the title to Version 03.091. In addition to increasing the speed at which inputs are registered by the game, as well as adding Nash’s Cannon Spike Costume to Menat’s Fighting Chance, there were also some other adjustments made which have now been documented in the official patch notes released by Capcom.

Most notably, the system for acquiring Dojo Points has been overhauled, in an effort to seemingly-make climbs up the Rankings less abusable. As of now, point acquisition in Ranked and Casual online matches will be limited to merely 10 times per day when accruing losses, including Draws, as well as only being obtainable 10 times per day for Battle Lounge matches, and per each level of difficulty in Arcade and Survival. Capcom also notes that, “there may be further changes to Dojo Point acquisition depending on the circumstances.”

Additionally, in an effort to improve CFN response times, all timeline data, up to the past three months, has been deleted, and any League Points that were lost by players due to login issues on October 23rd should now have been returned to players. Capcom closes the notes by promising that, “we will continue to explore ways to optimize the gameplay experience.”

Interestingly enough, there were no direct mentions of the removal of the reverse input bug that plagued the likes of Rashid, Alex, and Juri, as well as the reported stealth balance changes to Ed’s V-Skill Juggle Limit, Cody’s hitboxes, Kolin, or Zeku, hopefully meaning that their impact on gameplay is either nonexistent or to minimal to note. You can read the full notes below:

Following server maintenance on October 24, 2018, Street Fighter V has been updated to version

03.091.

■Fighting Chance
— Get Nash’s Canon Spike Additional Costume through “Soldier of Misfortune” now underway in

Fighting Chance.

■Other
— There have been changes made to the acquisition conditions and values for Dojo Points.

Dojo Points can be obtained through playing the Arcade, Survival, Extra Battle, Ranked Match, Casual

Match, and Battle Lounge game modes. However, point acquisition will be limited to 10 times per 1 day

for losses in Ranked and Casual Match.(including draws )

Dojo Points can only be obtained a maximum of 10 times per 1 day for matches within the Battle

Lounge, and per each difficulty in the Arcade and Survival Modes.

Please note that there may be further changes to Dojo Point acquisition depending on the circumstances.
— In order to improve the CFN response times, timeline data up to the past 3 months has been deleted.
– We have restored any LP that was lost during disconnects due to login issues that occurred on October 23th.
— The speed at which inputs are registered has been improved.

We will continue to explore ways to optimize the gameplay experience. Please be sure to check the latest news, updates, and improvements!

Emergency 1-hour Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition server maintenance to take place today for costume display bug

Nash’s Genbu attire lurks in the shadows of the Shop!

Yesterday marked a monumental day for fans and players of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, as the long-awaited and much-requested input delay reduction patch was finally released, along with some other bugs squashed and stealth balance changes implemented. However, their appears to have been an unforeseen bug introduced into the game with the update, impacting the in-game Shop’s 3D Model Viewer for costumes.

Though Nash’s Cannon Spike costume has now skated its way into Menat’s Fighting Chance, the undead soldier appears to be experiencing some unintended wardrobe woes as well. Interestingly, if you go to view Nash’s previously-released Halloween outfit with the Shop’s new 3D Model Viewer, a feature added in AE that allows players to see what an attire will look like in-game, you will instead get an unintentional look at Nash’s “Genbu” costume, an outfit that is exclusively available to FUDOH|Fujimura to celebrate his victory in the RAGE Master League Genbu Cup, back on May 28th, 2016.

Similar attires have been awarded to Echo Fox Tokido’s Akuma, for winning the Byakko Cup back in August, and to SZY|Mizuha’s Chun-Li, as the Champion of RAGE’S Suzaku Cup, in October 2016. There is speculated to be one more of these player-exclusive outfits, to be awarded to the winner of the upcoming Seiryu Cup, likely to be held in 2019.

As this outfit is not intended to be purchasable by other players, Capcom will be preforming an hour of emergency server maintenance tonight, from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. PT (7:00-8:00 P.M. CT, 8:00-9:00 P.M. ET,) to correct the issue. You can see the official Tweet from the SFV Server Status Twitter account, below. In the meantime, you can enjoy a brief look at this special outfit, which only sports two Colors to choose from.

Nash’s Cannon Spike Costume now available in Fighting Chance following Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition’s latest update

Earlier this week, we learned that the mechanization of the Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition cast would continue, as Mech F.A.N.G and Mech Juri will be the next pair of Crossover Costumes coming to Extra Battle mode, following the conclusion of Mech Zangief’s fourth and final piece this week.

Interestingly enough, the existence of these robotic outfits was revealed by Brazilian data miner X-Kira in a report of his most recent findings. It appears another of his recent discoveries has now also come to pass, as we now know that Nash’s Gunspike Costume, which sees the solider don his attire from the 2000 multi-directional Arcade Shooter Cannon Spike. This will be the second attire from Cannon Spike added to SFV, as Cammy’s attire from the game was the first Costume made available within “Menat’s Fighting Chance.”

For the unaware, Menat’s Fighting Chance allows players to spend various amounts of Fight Money that will reward players with a random assortment of various items that range from Battle Goods to be used in Survival Mode, special EX Colors for each character’s Default and Story Costumes, Classic artwork from all titles in the Street Fighter series, cosmetic items to personally customize your Dojo,  and of course, exclusive Costumes. Nash’s outfit can be obtained via the “Soldier of Misfortune” campaign, which went live with the return of the servers last night, following the input delay reduction patch.

In addition, staring next week, Extra Battles will be available against Gunspike Nash, for the opportunity to obtain Fortune Tickets. As before, these battles carry a measly 250 Fight Money entry fee per challenge attempt, and will award your chosen character with 250 EXP for each additional victory against him. Fortune Tickets can also be obtained with various high scores in Survival Mode. You can see the announcement Tweet from Capcom below.

Will you be looking to add this outfit to your Nash’s wardrobe? Let us know in the Comments.

My Hero One’s Justice arcade mode update, Shoot Style Izuku and Endeavor DLC available at launch in the West

When My Hero One’s Justice launches in the west this Friday, it won’t initially come with an arcade mode. However, that shouldn’t be an issue: Bandai Namco has confirmed that the update that adds arcade mode will be available at launch.

In addition to it, the game’s first two DLC characters, Shoot Style Izuku Midoriya and Endeavor will also be available at launch. The former is a free add on character, while the latter is free for players who’ve pre-ordered the game.

As previously detailed, arcade mode has players fight against six consecutive opponents. Completing arcade mode will unlock exclusive items.

Meanwhile, once players have either DLC character, they will be able to purchase additional missions for them.

My Hero One’s Justice arrives on PlayStation 4, PC, Switch, and XBox One on October 26. In the meantime, check out these new screenshots in the gallery below.
