A trio of cards from the latest Hearthstone expansion, The Boomsday Project, will be receiving a balance pass when the game’s next update launches on Thursday, October 18th. The Giggling Inventor, Aviana and Mana Wyrm will each feature increased Mana cost in order to use them.
Battlerite Royale players are in for some thrills and chills when Curse of the Night launches on October 17th. The three-week long event includes a Halloween-themed map called the Haunted Keep and “new gameplay objects called Trick or Treat Shrines”. The shrines will literally trick players with a debuff or treat them to a boon.
SoulCalibur VI is launching this week, and for any players on PC who have yet to pre-order it, now may be a great time to do so. Bandai Namco’s latest tale of souls and swords is discounted on PC via a couple of online retailers.
Fanatical currently has pre-orders for the Deluxe Edition of SoulCalibur VI for sale for $76.49, 15% off its regular price of $89.99. The regular edition on the other hand is on sale for $52.19, 13% off its $59.99 regular price.
In addition to the above, the Razer Game Store also has SoulCalibur VI discounted. Pre-orders for the regular edition is on sale for only $50.99, 15% off its regular price. Deluxe Edition pre-orders on the other hand are on sale for $80.99, 10% off the regular price.
Those interested in taking advantage of these should do so soon however. These deals end in just a few days.

Today, to celebrate the recently-announced Samurai Shodown, I’m looking back to a mechanic that defines much of the series: recoil canceling.
The fundamentals of 2-in-1 combos in most 2D fighters gets turned on its head in Samurai Shodown V Special. The cancel windows are often tight and occur late in the animation of a move — particularly on block, when characters go into a specific recoil animation. This “recoil cancel” isn’t just a combo tool, it is the foundation by which decision-making is based around when playing the game.

For anyone thinking of picking up some of Bandai Namco’s best fighting games on PC, a couple of them are on sale right now: both Dragon Ball FighterZ and Tekken 7 are discounted over at DL Gamer.
All of Dragon Ball FighterZ‘s various editions are all 50% off on DL Gamer. The standard edition is now only $30, meanwhile the FighterZ Edition, which includes all the DLC characters for season 1, is only $47.49. Of course, the game’s Ultimate Edition, which comes with the 8 DLC characters (as well as the Anime Music Pack and Commentator Voice Pack) is now only $54.99.
In addition to these, Tekken 7 is also on sale at DL Gamer. The game’s regular edition is subject to a 50% discount, bringing its price down to $20.00. It’s Ultimate Edition, however, is discounted by only 5%, bringing its price down to $85.49, down from $89.99.
