Professional Fighters League has returned with the lightweight and light heavyweight playoffs. Those in the playoffs will have to win twice Saturday in Long Beach, California, to advance to the 2018 PFL Championship on New Year’s Eve.
The Bless Online and Steam pages have been updated with a retrospective look back at the Early Access phase of the game with an eye to its upcoming release as a free-to-play game. The letter begins acknowledging that the game is “a passion project for Neowiz” and that they wanted to achieve the goals of a wide multi-national reach”. Part of that was to go to Early Access. While Neowiz wanted this to be a time for “development and changes”, the community wanted a more polished game.
Fans of classic arcade gaming that make the ROM-based FightCade their arena of choice got some discouraging news this week, with the announcement that development on the new version of the online service will be indefinitely delayed. As an unpaid indie-developed project, it seems “real life” has gotten in the way:
PSA: Due to real life taking more and more of our time, we have decided to put Fightcade 2 development on hold. This means that the server will be kept on for the time being but there won't be new updates. Many thanks to our wonderful Discord mods and all of you for your support!

While nothing is planned at this time, work may still resume on the project at some point in the future. And for those that want to play those good ol’ arcade fighters online via their PC, the original FightCade is still available.

If you’re a die-hard fan of collectibles, then you’ll want to check out the trailer Bandai Namco just dropped today for SoulCalibur VI‘s Collector’s Edition.
This robust package includes a massive 120-page artbook, a statue of Sophitia, and a metal case for the game’s sweeping orchestral soundtrack. If that all sounds good to you, you’ll have to pony up roughly $150 USD for your pre-order. Somewhat unbelievably, Namco is choosing to not include Season Pass in the collector’s edition — worsening what was already a controversial DLC situation for the game.

In addition to the tour’s trio of titles in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 and BlazBlue: Central Fiction having points and qualification spots on the line, tournaments were also held for Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late[st], Skullgirls: 2nd Encore, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Fighting EX Layer, The Kings of Fighters XIV, and Pokkén Tournament DX, so it was guaranteed to be a banger of an event.

With the inaugural event in the books, the next stop on the ARC REVO World Tour will be for the Asia Region, with this weekend’s SEA Major 2018 in Singapore, October 13th and 14th, where a second player will qualify for the Finals at ARC REVO America 2019 in Xrd, BBCF, and BBTAG!

Arc System Works wants your questions about the ArcRevo World Tour
Since the initial announcement of the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour, we’ve known about the first five of the seven Saga Events where players can battle for a Dragon Ball — which will allow them to qualify as a seeded player for the Finals in 2019 — but the final two have remained a mystery.
Recently, the curtain was finally lifted on the locations, dates, and events that will be the battlegrounds for the 6 and 7-Star Balls. While the 5-Star Dragon Ball will be on the line at this weekend’s SEA Major 2018 in Singapore, we now know that the following Saga Event will take place in Tokyo, Japan, as Japan Round will be held at the VR Zone Shinjuku on the weekend of November 24th and 25th.
Meanwhile, the 7th and final Saga Event will be hosted in the Oceania Region’s Melbourne, Australia at the inaugural CouchWarriors Crossup, in the suburb of Coburg North, Victoria, between December 15th and 16th; it will represent the absolute final chance to obtain seeding for the Finals in January 2019, aside from the “8th Saga” Last Chance Qualifier Tournament to be held at the Finals themselves. CouchWarriors Crossup is conformed to be receiving the customary $5,000 pot bonus for a Saga Event, but any bonus for the Japan Round is yet to be revealed.
With GGP|Kazunoko (CEO Champion), Echo Fox|SonicFox (VSFighting Champion), CO|GO1 (Ultimate Fighting Arena Champion), and NRG|HookGangGod (Thunderstruck Champion), already qualified, and a 5th player set to soon join them, the battles are guaranteed to grow even more intense as we inch closer to the Finals — and it will certainly be interning to witness it all play out before our eyes. Registration for CouchWarriors Crossup — which will also feature tournaments for the newly-released Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (singles and doubles), Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late[st], Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, SoulCalibur VI, Project M, Rivals of Aether, Super Smash Bros. Melee (singles and doubles), Injustice 2, Tekken 7, Mortal Kombat XL, and BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle — is currently live at smash.gg. Registration for the Japan Round will likely be opened at a date closer to the event.

If you want to feel like you’re always getting the most damage potential possible from your character, there are easier characters to pick in Tekken 7 than DLC character Anna Williams. Anna might have bad frame data and easily one of the worst punishment games in the roster, but all of that melts away when you realize you only have to guess twice with DF+2 to win a round… assuming, of course, you have exceptional execution. (For the pedantic: technically the juggle is 47%. You might need one CJM D+33 to even things out.)
You’ll need to learn instant While Standing+3’s, properly timed QCF+1’s, microdashing and more, but all these techniques (combined with DB+1,4’s odd quirk of doing un-scaled grounded damage) turn every Anna conversion into potentially round stealing victories.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy just recently added a second guest character (as well as its second gender-bent one) in the form of Skullomania. For those wondering what he — or rather, she — can do in this game, Mikadok has released a combo video for her.
The combo system in SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy does allow for a fair bit of creativity, despite the game’s simplified nature. Some of the things it allows, such as an air dash after certain moves, definitely lets Skullomania pull off some impressive-looking things. A couple of things that Mikadok doesn’t use in this video however are items and tag-ins – yes, all the combos here are done purely by Skullomania, without the help of others to extend them.
