Tony Martin is one of the rare fighters who aren’t literally sweating it out the week of a fight. Having moved up from lightweight, Martin will continue his run at welterweight on Saturday against Ryan LaFlare at UFC 229, and he claims the change thus far has been life changing.
Count Mike Perry as a Conor McGregor fan. The two men are both brash trash talkers, each with his own distinct style. With “Notorious” always a teasing a return to welterweight, “Platinum” would love nothing more than a chance at what McGregor famously termed “red panty night.”
After an exciting debut season, the playoffs have finally arrived for Professional Fighters League. Ten fights are set to kick off the playoffs Friday night in New Orleans. Before the playoffs commence, 20 fighters weighed in in order to have a chance at the million dollar prize.

Street Fighter V received a nomination for “eSports Game of the Year”, but it wasn’t alone: Dragon Ball FighterZ also shares the honor, along with two additional nominations for “Best Visual Design” and “Best Competitive Game”. Capcom also received a nomination for “Studio of the Year” on the merit of Monster Hunter World, and to top it all off, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate makes an appearance on their nominations for “Most Wanted Game” for upcoming titles.

Thanks to V-Jump we already knew Yugi Moto was joining the roster of Bandai Namco’s Shonen Jump-themed arena fighter JUMP FORCE, and that he was bringing some powerful friends along; now we’ve got his official reveal trailer, too. From the Bandai Namco press release:
The new trailer highlights the recently announced Yugi Muto from the long-running popular Yu-Gi-Oh! series. Fighting along the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge, Yugi can summon powerful allies such as Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl, and Slifer the Sky Dragon to help him defeat his foes.

Earlier this year, Dynamight Studios successfully completed a Fractured KickStarter campaign. In order to allow fans who might have missed an opportunity to contribute to the development of Fractured, Dynamight has opened an on-site store with “replicas of the pledge packs” that were found in the KickStarter campaign. The goal is to “double its total funding (currently $250k) by the end of Alpha 1” that is currently slated for December.
Blockstrings are very important to Dragon Ball FighterZ, probably more than in any other modern fighting game. Most of the time spent in a DBFZ match is time spent blocking, and opening up top players requires the best strings possible — luckily, YouTube user sikshot gaming has made those strings (as well as their answers) a little more accessible. Now, it should definitely be noted that most of DBFZ’s defense (and defense opening) comes with reactions, reflexes, and experience, but about 30 minutes of guidance along the way will surely help out — especially considering the complexities of a character like 17.
