Capcom releases updated patch notes for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Season 4

Learn about previously undocumented changes for F.A.N.G, Cody, Ryu, and G!

At the conclusion of Capcom Cup 2018, Yoshinori Ono surprised everyone in attendance and watching at home with the news that Season 4 would officially begin right after the tournament concluded. In addition to the explosively violent reveal of “The Embodiment of Satsui,” Kage, Capcom also released a slew of customary balance changes for the entire cast. However, it seems a few alterations for the quartet of F.A.N.G, Ryu, Cody, and G, though already implanted into the game, went undocumented in the initial release of patch notes. Capcom has recently corrected this error on the Shadaloo C.R.I. page, and you can view the changes for the four World Warriors below:

  • F.A.N.G

・EX Ryobenda (Regular/V-Trigger II)
③Reduced the block stop for the first hit by 2F.
Note: Changes in the advantage/disadavantage only if the first hit is blocked.

  • Cody

・Trash Out (Front Throw)
Damage increased from 120 to 130.

The following are corrections for items that were mistakenly listed on the adjustment list.

  • Ryu

・VTII Isshin
Mistaken: ②The attack recovery can be canceled into Shoryuken.
Corrected: ②The attack recovery can be canceled into Shoryuken and EX Jodan Sokutou Geri.

  • G

・G Smash Over (V-Trigger I)
Expanded the collision boxes in the upwards direction for the first hit.

Core-A Gaming delves into what it’s like to be a female fighting gamer

The FGC always has room for improvement, especially in regards to inclusiveness. While we’ve made strides in the past several years, it’s important that as a community we sincerely listen to all feedback, good and bad, so that we can be better than we were the day before. Core-A Gaming — partnering with UYU — recently released a powerful video giving some of the women in the FGC a platform to talk about their experiences entering the scene, and what they might hope for the future.

It’s no secret that being a female competitor in the FGC — or any gaming community for that matter — has its fair share of challenges. Women often find themselves not being taken as seriously as their male counterparts for a myriad of bogus reasons, whether it’s because of perceived attention-seeking or an assumed lack of skill.

Watching Core-A’s video, you can see that all of these women (some of which are professionally sponsored players) have had to endure that unfair criticism, and still do. However, they push themselves in spite of biased comments, owing no one any proof of skill, and work towards being the best competitors they can be. These proud ladies are charging ahead and showing everyone that they have just as much claim to a pad or stick as anyone else, providing a shining example that other girls can look up to.

Kage isn’t Evil Ryu, honestly: BornFree reveals how Kage got into Street Fighter V in this new skit

“KILL THEM ALL (except for the DJs).”

How does Evil Ryu find his way back into the game after A Shadow Falls basically writes him out (as Ryu goes all Mu no Hado and such)? According to BornFree, it might look a little like this:

Keep an eye out for those glow-horns while you’re spending a night at the club. A longer edit is currently available for BornFree’s Patreon and Twitch subscribers; check the video description.

Wizzrobe explains how to avoid buffered rolls in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Because of the new buffering window in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there’s been an uptick in unintentional buffered actions across all levels of play. Smash community star Wizzrobe has experienced this too, particularly with the way the game accepts roll inputs:

When it comes to rolls, at least, the problem likely boils down to holding shield too long. Wizzrobe breaks down the way the game is accepting these inputs in his latest video for Most Valuable Gaming, which you can check out above.

Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament cancelled at Anime Ascension due to “unforeseen circumstances”

Something stinks on the intellectual property side for Dragon Ball FighterZ, potentially kneecapping the esports future of one of the best fighting games out there. However…

Frame 3:
Base Goku Dragon Ball FighterZ Nimbus ResizeToei Animation states that they have nothing to do with blocking Dragon Ball FighterZ tournaments

With their connection to the franchise and a litigious reputation, Toei was believed to be the culprit in the vanishing DBFZ events. It seems someone else is to blame.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition’s sponsored content is no longer available — at least for now

While it may appear that Capcom is backing off due to the bad press of their ill-conceived Sponsored Content, the mechanisms to deliver the content are still in the game, so don’t get your hopes up yet. More likely that new ads are on the way now that the CPT season is over.

I would like to pretend that this means SoulCalibur VI will get a TWT-esque tour, but I know better.

Inkling’s roller causes inconsistent and potentially glitchy interactions in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Considering everything else the roller does, I genuinely don’t understand the need to make these weird physics interactions.

With Zero Fanfare, Heroes of the Storm’s Next Hero Announced – Say Hi to Imperius

Diablo 3’s archangel, Imperius, is the next hero coming to the Heroes of the Storm Nexus. Imperius will be available on the public test realm on January 2nd. The announcement isn’t unexpected since the community was told in a recent producer’s letter that the next hero would be coming along right after the start of the new year. What is surprising is that the announcement came without an accompanying video or explanation of Imperius’s abilities.
