Crossover unable to attend Capcom Cup 2018 due to visa issues

2016’s Capcom Cup was rife with issues of players unable to attend the tournament due to visa issues; while last year was quite the departure from this — only NuckleDu withdrew from the tournament — the visa issue has reared its ugly head once again.

The Dominican Republic’s SonicBoxx|Crossover — the Latin America Regional Finals winner — has announced today that he was unable to secure a visa from the US Embassy in the Dominican Republic, and thus will be unable to attend. This currently leaves the Latin American slot up in the air: Pikoro would be pressed to secure a visa in a short amount of time, as Peruvians require a visa to enter the US, leaving Doomsnake507 of Panama as the highest-placing competitor in the bracket who does not a require a visa to travel to the United States.

Override: Mech City Brawl announces first DLC character, the unicorn mech “Stardust”

Gundam fans, have you ever wanted to play as Master Gundam’s horse, Fuun-saiki? Just the horse, mind you. If so, then “Stardust”, the first DLC character for Override: Mech City Brawl, is probably as close as you’re going to get:

This football kicking, star-shooting horse will launch on December 14 for $3.99, and is also included with the “Super Charged Mega Edition” of the game. Gematsu reports that the character has “a penchant for posing extravagantly and kicking up her hooves of steel,” and to “get ready to unleash all manner of aerial launches.” In short, I’d like to introduce a new FGC term for any future Stardust tech: Horse Juggles.

Override: Mech City Brawl is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Special retailer exclusives for pre-ordering games is a common practice for many releases.  As such, it should be no surprise that  Dead or Alive 6 is being given the same treatment at select retailers.

Players who pre-order Dead or Alive 6 at GameStop and EB Games Canada will receive an exclusive steelbook edition of the game. This offer applies to both customers who pre-order online as well as those who do so in-store. Additionally, all the other pre-0rder bonuses, including Nyotengu and a exclusive costume for Kasumi, are still included. Take note that the steelbook offer applies only while supplies last.

Additionally, a recent tweet from Team NINJA also indicates that Best Buy and Amazon will also have retailer exclusive pre-order bonuses. However, those have yet to be listed on their online stores as of the time of writing. Dead or Alive 6 launches on February 15 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
