After covering a large variety of non-player characters and spin-off material–as well as the initial cast of 16 earlier this year–the Shadaloo Activity Report is finally ready to unveil its personal research profiles on the six Season One DLC Characters for Street Fighter V, as told by Private Nakagawa. We start with the first three revealed: who also happen to be the most heroic and virtuous of the “Dirty Half-Dozen,” including a soldier looking to avenge his fallen friend and fulfill his duty to protect his country, an isolated man seeking to hone his skills, to a ninja girl who just wants to be a normal teenager.

Private Nakagawa: His shoulders bear the weight of the New Generation, you can call him a member of the Power Age. Carpentry and survival techniques are his skills. Here’s his Command List!

His father’s close friend Tom worries about him. Alex seems to suppress his emotions, and rarely speaks at all; but when he wants to speak, he makes himself perfectly clear. Caught in the Black Moon incident of Shadaloo, he encounters Dhalsim, and takes a step towards a new adventure.

He fights for the peace of his country. He harbors a peculiar view about the existence of Lord Bison’s Shadaloo: as an evil who disturbs World Peace, and as an enemy of his friend Nash. While chasing the trail of Shadaloo, he meets up with Nash again, and although confused by the sudden and total changes in his close friend, he decides to fulfill his duties like a professional. He’s the type of person who believes one should solve their problems by themselves.

She’s a caring girl, who is gentle with everyone, and aids anyone who’s in trouble, and often plays with her cousin Mel. She takes a stroll with her beloved dog Sabu as part of her daily routine. With such a good daughter, Guile is really lucky and I hope he’s happy. It would be better for him to give up his pursuit of Shadaloo and just return home…

Finally, we have the plucky teenage kunoichi, Ibuki!

Private Nakagawa: A kunoichi who was born and raised in a village of shinobi. A girl who yearns for the life of an ordinary schoolgirl. She’s an expert in the usage of taijutsu and ninja tools. She’s currently been hired by Karin, but she has no interest in a long-term employment with the Zaibatsu. Her mutual relations with Mika were bad upon their first meeting, as they got off on the wrong foot, but their friendship sprouted from acting together while on duty during a mission.

For the next set of Capcom Fighters Network character profiles, Shadaloo’s Private Nakagawa examines their research pertaining to Street Fighter III’s Judgment Girls, a series of women who appear when a draw occurs at the end of a match to declare a winner. Despite being set before SFIII, some of them have made a return–or rather, a chronological debut–as background characters in Street Fighter V’s Kanzuki Private Beach DLC stage.

Private Nakagawa: Now we’re going to present the members of the Judgment Girls. If you’re asking who they are, just try to play Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. They come out if you have a draw in the last possible round of a match!

Private Nakagawa: We now present the next member of the Judgment Girls. It’s written 冬麗 and pronounced Dōng Lì. Chūn Lì, Dōng Lì, Dōng Fēng: lots of similar names, don’t you think? I like the name. She’s a girl with short hair.

As was the case with her sisters, the CFN Portal site correctly explain the name pronunciation for the Japanese, but the official Western transliteration is wrong.]

During F.A.N.G’s Character Prologue in Street Fighter V, it’s mentioned that he was the leader of a large drug cartel, the Nguuhao, who had allied with Shadaloo, and under the guise of displaying their “vassalage” attempted to stage a coup against M. Bison–but underestimating the strength of his Psycho Power, as well as his immunity to their Poison Hand techniques, they were systematically exterminated, save for the “Cunning Trickster.” F.A.N.G immediately pledged loyalty to Shadaloo and become the organization’s new Fourth Heavenly King, replacing the long-departed Sagat in the overall hierarchy.

Now, the Shadaloo Activity Report and Private Nakagawa take a deeper look inside this once-powerful organization and its members.

Private Nakagawa: This time we speak of members of an organization active in the past throughout Asia, the Nguuhao. Are you asking me if they once came into our Shadaloo base? I wasn’t enrolled at that time yet, so I don’t know.

Private Nakagawa: It seems that, as a rule, the Nguuhao’s members can’t expose their true names. Moreover, they can’t reveal what sort of techniques they are learning.  It is said they all start by learning the basic usage of poison, until it has been tightly hammered into them, and then each member begins to hone his personal techniques. Speaking of which, we’ve also obtained these images.

Private Nakagawa: Hmm, he resembles someone… Who could he be? He seems scary, doesn’t he?

That seems to be the extent of Shadaloo’s intel on the now-extinct Nguuhao. Hopefully, this provided some interesting insights for F.A.N.G players on the character’s past and origins. At the beginning of Dhalsim’s Character Prologue in Street Fighter V, Rashid identifies him as, “One of the seven Yoga Masters in the world you gotta meet at least once,” noting that’s “what the net calls him, anyway.” In the latest set of CFN Portal profiles from the Shadaloo Activity Report, as told by Shadaloo soldier Private Nakagawa, we have full details on the other six Yoga Masters–so if you’ve curious about them, you will have to wonder no longer!

Private Nakagawa: Here’s one of the Seven Masters of Yoga you have to meet at least once, made famous by that site. On what basis of criteria did they choose those Seven Masters?

Private Nakagawa: A master residing in Punjab, Northwest India, that specializes in the “Transition of the Operator,” or Yoga Teleport. About 30 years ago, in the village where a young Jagjit was living, a disastrous flood occurred, leaving the villagers stymied and in big trouble. It seems he teleported over 50 people at one time to their safety, and thats’ how his legend started. It’s said his spiritual powers surpass even those of Dhalsim. [His name comes from Jagjit Singh, an Indian singer who is widely known in Japan.]

Private Nakagawa: Of course we’re going to do all of them. Another one of the Seven Yoga Masters you have to meet at least once. A Master of “wisdom,” with a vast amount of knowledge.

In the meantime, the vast majority of your problems would have been resolved by themselves.

During his subsequent depression, someone suggested that he try Yoga, and in a very short time he completely devoted himself to it. He knows techniques to quickly improve the strength of his neck. He’s famous for the exciting trick of lifting up four gigantic elephants with his legs. Since becoming famous, he has developed a noticeable haughtiness and generally arrogant attitude. The “G” in his name stands for “Great.”

Private Nakagawa: Next, a female Yoga Master. One of the Seven Yoga Masters you have to meet at least once. She is active internationally.

Private Nakagawa: And we continue (are you tired already?)! One of the Seven Yoga Masters you have to meet at least once. Could this one be stronger than Dhalsim when it comes to techniques?

In this state, he can roll and squash his foe with the “Yoga Iron Ball,” a dangerous technique. Since his body weight increases as well, he cannot use it indoors. Surprisingly, no one wants to be his disciple. By the way, gulab jamun is the name of a delicious dessert!

Private Nakagawa: And finally, the last Master. One of the Seven Yoga Masters you have to meet at least once. It seems he was chosen only recently, as before him there were only 6 Great Masters.

Judging from his height and weight, he’s a young boy of approximately 4 years. He can’t speak with words, but can transmit his thoughts using means of telepathy. Even the most ferocious of animals behave themselves quietly in front of him. It isn’t known where he came from, but he’s been a Yoga Master from his birth.

Private Nakagawa: And we’ve finally presented all of the Yoga Masters. Together with Dhalsim they’re 7, each one with their own personality…

Deviating from the usual group format, we’ve got an assortment of various CFN Profiles today from the Shadaloo Activity Report: Private Nakagawa informs us on that portion of their personal research that focuses on powerful side characters that have played a significant role in the journeys of some of our favorite World Warriors.

Private Nakagawa: In Thailand, there is an athlete who became a legend in the Muay Thai world. It seems Sagat defeated him during his youth.

Private Nakagawa: Delivering quick attacks seemingly impossible for a person of his bulky size, he cultivated his stamina from never-ending harsh training and began to confront other warriors, defeating them in a commotion, leaving his opponents gasping for air as the fight drags on. He was born in a poor village, and he began to rise to the top–until his fist was the one sitting on the throne of the Emperor, having made a name for himself with his fighting abilities. His finishing move is an invincible knee strike dubbed the “Hanuman Kick.”

Next up we have a character originating in the Sakura Ganbaru manga, Karin Kanzuki’s father, Daigenjūrō Kanzuki!

Private Nakagawa: Wow, what a name! He seems strong… He’s the father of that terrible Karin Kanzuki. Nowadays he doesn’t seem to live at his family’s mansion. What could’ve happened?

Private Nakagawa: The previous head of the Kanzuki family, Karin’s father. He raised his daughter by giving her severe tests and a variety of ordeals. He trembled with fear seeing his daughter passing with ease the tests he himself wasn’t able to overcome. He nevertheless insisted on being the head of the family. But he was overthrown when Karin snatched up his stocks in the conglomerate. [An event that took place in the “Miss Karin Ganbaru” bonus manga short] He refused to renounce his position as the family’s head, and pursued his daughter, flying all around the world, chasing after her, continuing to challenge her to reclaim his right to be the head. But he’s been unsuccessful so far, with a continuous losing streak. It seems this father and daughter aren’t exactly on good terms in their relationship, huh?

Now, we have another Street Fighter papa, though unfortunately, this one is deceased. Makoto’s father, Masaru.

Private Nakagawa: This time we’ll speak of someone who’s sadly passed away. The father of that karate girl Makoto. Hmm, I’m certain I’ve already seen that uniform he’s wearing somewhere before.

Private Nakgawa: The former instructor of Rindōkan, a karate Dōjō in Tosa. He bravely faced any difficulty, a nice guy who hated injustices and crookedness above anything else. He went to any place in the world where there was a man of valor and challenged him, to test his own skills. He was too absorbed with–and addicted to–his training, and didn’t pay much attention to his family, letting the household go to waste. While traveling in South America, he fought with a strong opponent and suffered a crushing defeat. [In the UDON Comics continuity, this was Oro.] Disheartened, he returned home in disgrace. Afterwards, he left this world because of an accident. His special techniques were “Fukiage,” (“Blowing Lift”) a powerful anti-air, and “Natsukusa,” (“Summer Grass”) a hook punch.

Finally, we’re closing this batch of CFN Profiles by taking a look at one of the original Masters of Bushinryū, the teacher of Guy and Maki, Master Zeku!

Private Nakagawa: He’s so Bushinryū-ish. It seems he was the master of both Guy and Maki. Then he must be a fairly strong man, huh?

Private Nakagawa: The 38th Master of Bushinryū. A master of taijutsu. In his heyday, he was called “Zeku the Godspeed.” Nowadays, he has taken a bit of a backseat, and watches over Guy from the shadows, one step behind him. The Bushin style of the Genryūsai, who are the heads of the family, focused primarily on jutsu and Ninpo techniques (ninja arts), but Zeku imported various other taijutsu to sublimate Bushinryū and make it a more practical way of fighting.

Ever wonder just exactly who, or what, they are? Private Nakagawa: The boarding-type robot “Asterios” is a cutting-edge, state-of-the-art machine. It’s a single-seater, 8 Meters tall, with a body weight of 5.2 metric tons. It’s made of steel and carbon fiber-reinforced plastic. It seems the Kanzuki Zaibatsu is involved in its production… It’s unrefined look and clunky feeling is too cool! Lord F.A.N.G, why don’t we make one, too?! A robot! Eh? “We don’t have the money…?”

As we’ve seen over the course of the Cinematic Story Mode “A Shadow Falls,” as well as various pieces of Concept Art and supplemental material throughout the Capcom Fighters Network Portal site, Shadaloo is an extremely large terrorist organization, comprised of many more personnel beyond the Four Heavenly Kings and the 12 Shadaloo Dolls. We even spotlighted a division of Apprentice Dolls  earlier this month. Courtesy of the Shadaloo Activity Report as provided by private Nakagawa, here’s a look inward, shining a spotlight on some of the soldiers and other employees of the organization, who faithfully serve the cause of Lord Bison behind closed doors. Now you too can experience Shadaloo’s militaristic might!

Nakagawa: This time, it’s Shadaloo’s Medical Soldiers. These are the soldiers in the Research Facility, on the second floor, Medical Room. Even if they have medical duties, they can fight. A scalpel is scary!

Nakagawa: They do everything, from the treatment of wounded soldiers to massages for desk workers. They are the persons to whom Shadaloo Soldiers should be grateful for their health. Massages are given on an appointment basis, and their prices are deducted from your salary.

Next up, are the three Ranks of Shadaloo Soldiers, many of whom can be faced in the Cinematic Story Mode as CPU-controlled NPCs with Single-Bar Variable Gauges.

Nakagawa: Finally they’ve come! Our Low-Ranking Soldiers! The unsung heroes (those who do the chores)! The central figures behind the shadows (those who get beaten)! The more I write about them, the more I get sad…

Nakagawa: The Psycho Tackle is a basic technique, a brilliant rush with the shoulder, followed by a flurry of punches. The Psycho Crusher (in name only) is a move full of openings, an attempt at the mythical technique of Lord Bison. There’s a bit of stiffness after getting up again. By the way, our soldier’s formal name is AS for “Artificial Soldier.” And the Shadaloo Soldiers’ Development Program (Strengthening Project) is SADP, that’s “Shadaloo Artificial Development Programme. A bit difficult, so it’s only used by the original proposer, Lord F.A.N.G.

Nakagawa: If you thought they were coming next, you were right: the Mid-Ranking Soldiers, those stronger than us. You are promoted if you can pass an exam.

Nakagawa: The Psycho Divekick is a diving kick after a jump. A dangerous technique, as you are open for a counterattack during the landing, not to mention the risk of spraining your ankle. These soldiers also take part with the Four Heavenly Kings in overseas battles and operations in foreign countries. They gave us a souvenir from their last trip to India. (Perhaps the Piece Balrog stole from Zangief?) All those who reach this rank have their eyes that have become white.

Nakagawa: High-Ranking Shadaloo Soldiers, the most powerful amongst us. Once you’ve attained this rank, you can use Psycho Power. Obviously only if you receive power directly from Lord Bison, though.

Nakagawa: Psycho Elbow is the anti-air we’ve always dreamed of. You are left wide-open during landing, with a very large gap… It’s a playful, mischievous move, and we relish ever time it comes out. The soldiers entirely clad in red are extremely super ultra rare! They are the elite, and only a handful of them can surpass the tests and survive the trials. The soldiers who directly support the Four Heavenly Kings are of this type.

Back in August 1990, Capcom released a side-scrolling action platformer known as Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight. It was marketed as a futuristic spin-off title to the original Street Fighter, despite having nothing to do with the original franchise. However, Capcom USA, in an effort to create SOME form of link to the original series, changed the protagonist’s name from Kevin Straker to Ken, implying that he was the same Ken Masters we all know and love, who became a futuristic scientist 25 years after returning home following a victory in the original World Warrior Tournament. However, the game has become infamous for its difficulty, soundtrack, graphics and unique game mechanics, and it’s remained somewhat of a joke among SF purists. In celebration of the title’s 26th Anniversary, the CFN Portal site has released character profiles on the two main characters of the game, in addition to formally stating where the title falls in terms of the overall canon of the Street Fighter universe.

Released in 1990 for the Family Computer (the Japanese equivalent of the Nintendo Entertainment System, also known as the Famicom), it sported the name “Street Fighter,” even before the arcade edition of “Street Fighter II” (1991). It was not a fighting game, but a side-scrolling action title, in the same vein as “Mega Man,” “Ghosts N’ Goblins,” and “Strider.” It’s setting is in a Parallel Universe, in respect to the world of SF.

He’s a galactic cyborg policeman, in a 2010 Earth where humankind has begun to colonize and emigrate other planets, fighting against heinous and brutal criminals who implant themselves with “armored insects” named “Parasites.” His codename is MX-5. He could use sonic energy bullets as weapons, fired from his punches and kicks, and an emergency evasive flip jump (a back somersault). During the flip, he is totally invincible, and if he has taken shield capsules, he can shoot flip shields from his feet, in a combination of both offense and defense!

As mentioned, in the overseas version, “Kevin” became “Ken”: after his victory in the Street Fighter tournament, he triumphantly returned to the U.S.A. and enrolled in university. After 25 years, he once again fights–to find the culprit who killed his friend and fellow researcher Troy! (If you decide to accept this as a parallel timeline…)

In the USA version, he’s not “Jose,” but becomes “Troy.” Troy is Ken’s fellow researcher, and has developed the “Cyboplasam,” to enable the migration to other planets by, and make life possible for, the human race, but he is killed and his studies stolen…

Back in 2000, Japanese developer Psikyo released a multi-directional twitch arcade shooter known as Cannon Spike, or Gun Spike in Japan, named after Cammy’s trademark Special Move. It was later released by Capcom that same year for the Sega Dreamcast. The title allowed you to control fan-favorite Capcom characters, such as Arthur, Cammy (whose SFV outfit is based off of this game’s design), Nash, B.B Hood and Mega Man, as you blasted through multiple Capcom-themed stages. Recently, the CFN Portal decided to spotlight the two original characters in the game, Shiba and Simone.

Today we have the mysterious young man Shiba. He seems to be cooperating with Delta Red, the British Special Forces group to which Cammy belongs. Basically, he’s an enemy of Shadaloo.

He’s followed by a support robot named Akabi that subjugates mobs and insurgencies by spitting flames from its mouth. Shiba seems to be acquainted with Nash, but when and where they met is unknown.

Next up, we have the second original character from Cannon Spike, Simone! A nasty, bothersome mercenary who aids Delta Red, like the previously introduced youth Shiba. She wields a powerful samurai sword!

Furthermore, she knows Kenpō, and part of her body is cybernetic. Her Special Move is “Kattōha,” (“Sliding Blade Wave”) a, iaido sword draw. She can do aerial throws too!

Our next set of Capcom Fighters Network profiles take us to one of the most obscure corners of the Street Fighter universe. Back in 2008 as part of Street Fighter’s 20th Anniversary, Capcom released a pachislot game developed by Enterrise in Japan, titled Chun-Li ni nakasae China, which translates to “Chun-Li Leaves China.” The first game to feature Chun-Li in a starring role follows the Strongest Woman in the World, along with Rose, Guile, Sakura and Ryu, as they battled Zangief and the forces of Shadaloo: the Dolls, Cammy, Vega and M. Bison, in addition to rescuing an unnamed girl. Akuma even makes an appearance. These next profiles will focus on the two original characters created for the game, Chun-Li’s friends Mary and Reiko.

Today we’re focusing on profiles of characters appearing in Chun-Li Leaves China. This is Mary. She’s a normal girl who doesn’t fight.

In the future, she hopes to work for some sort of an intelligence agency. How about Shadaloo? It’s a great place to work, I promise!

Another character who appeared in “Chun-Li Leaves China.” You can tell that this woman loves motorcycling just by looking at her outfit. She doesn’t practice any martial arts, thus she cannot fight.

She’s a famous road racer that’s actively competed in various countries all over the world. She’s an extremely competitive person with an unyielding personality who hates losing. A few years ago, she happened to witness Mary’s kidnapping by chance, which led to her aiding Chun-Li in her investigation. All was successfully resolved. Since then, they’ve become good friends and keep in contact with each other. She loves her favorite red racing suit. She’s really cool! Let’s sponsor her! Please Lord F.A.N.G! How about we send some Shadaloo stickers to her! We could affix it in a prominent place where it would stand out here in Shadaloo… What? We can’t? I’m sorry. Man, what a pity…
