Push Yourself to the Limit with This Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Cloud Limit Break Setups

One of the reasons that Cloud Strife is so strong in Super Smash Bros for Wii U is his Limit meter. The Final Fantasy VII character can charge the meter on his own–preferably after taking a stock off someone–or build it when he incurs damage. Either way, Cloud can create unique setups while in Limit, which can lead into kills with the use of select Limit specials.

This tutorial will lists some great kill setups to use when Cloud has Limit. It shows you various setups for various damage percentages, but as always, stage and character weight will always factor into your decisions. But a few laps in the practice mode with the setups on various characters will help you discover what options work when.

Michael Martin and BornFree Talk about Capcom’s Disconnect with the Community in Conversations and Fireballs

There is most certainly a problem between Capcom and the community it claims to be serving. Despite putting a lot of money into the Capcom Pro Tour and various events that it has sponsored, Street Fighter V itself has had a bumpy ride within the media due to various issues. Capcom lost a lot of good will with the community with the Season 2 changes, and everything is struggling in their relationship with the game.

Michael Martin sat down to talk about these things with Mark “BornFree” Sheridan on this week’s Conversations and Fireballs. Sheridan–who has a marketing degree–explains part of the reason the disconnect exists, and points his fingers primarily at Capcom Japan. They have had issues with adhering to deadlines in the past and buck passing to Capcom USA for promising things that they never kept.

This King of Fighters XIV Meitenkun Combo Video Makes Fighting Looks So Easy, You Could Do It in Your Sleep

Looks like Team China in The King of Fighters XIV is getting the full combo video treatment. Next up is the prince of narcolepsy, Meitenkun. While among KOFXIV’s roster he may be a character that many players sleep on, this combo video won’t lull you into dream land. A lot of these combos actually deal with very low meter usage–usually one bar into Max Mode–and could even be viable if you were looking toward making Meitenkun a viable point character. But like many a combo video, there are a few impractical combos with heavy meter usage that not even the anchor character of the team would use in a match.

All puns aside, you owe it to yourself to pour yourself some sleepy time tea, curl up with a pillow, and watch some highly damaging combos.

Learn About Kolin’s Capabilities in VesperArcade’s Character Breakdown Video

Right after Kolin was announced by Capcom to be the newest character for Street Fighter V, the entire internet went abuzz. People have begun to analyze the video for anything they can use to their advantage when playing her upon release come February 28.

VesperArcade is doing a mass amount of leg work for everyone else with this breakdown video. Vesper takes great detail to talk about her play style, which they hypothesize to be rushdown oriented as opposed to zoning like the leak notes alluded to. They also discuss her double jump, back throw, and normals, and also suspect that her health will be 900, due to her being one ranking over Akuma in the health department.

Blow Up a Black Gale with this Kagura Stance Tutorial for BlazBlue: Central Fiction

Any character that has stances in a game can be very difficult to play intelligently, especially for newcomers to fighting games. (Part of that is why Gen was always considered lower in the tiers in Street Fighter IV, despite Razer|Xian’s artful usage of the character to win Evo 2013.)

BlazBlue has a couple of these characters, including Kagura. Here’s a tutorial on how to properly utilize his dive stances to maximize your success with the character: there is a huge difference between him and other stance characters, in that he can cancel his stance changes easily just by hitting 4D in order to mix up his opponents–however, his stance cancel has been slowed down since Chronophantasma. Also, one big thing to note that the video goes over is that Kagura cannot enter the same stance twice in a combo or blockstring, so it is important to train yourself on picking and choosing your stances properly.

Learn How to Survive in Super Smash Bros. Melee with This Anti-Edgeguard Technique

One of the toughest things to accomplish in Super Smash Bros. Melee is a proper recovery from getting knocked off the stage. This problem is even further exacerbated by the dreaded edgeguard: when your opponent grabs the edge for a handful of frames to make you fall right through to your death.

However, there is a way to circumvent their devious efforts to make you plummet. If you perform an ASDI fast fall technique, as showcased in this tutorial video, then you can make it onto the stage without their edgeguard blocking you. While this technique is most useful with Marth or Sheik, it is still useful across the cast.

Not only that, but he consistently sits either #1 or #2 on the CFN leaderboard. People have had great difficulty dispatching him, including Echo Fox’s Justin Wong and Evil Geniuses’ K-Brad.

With the younger players struggling with Smug’s Balrog, it’s now time for the veterans to take their shot. Who better in America to test Smug’s mettle than Alex Valle? Valle is still known as a giant killer, always taking care of business when it’s crunch time against the world’s best. So can his Ryu stand up to Smug?
