Why have 1 sword when you can have 2? New Round Trip glitch for Trish discovered in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

It seems that Trish’s Round Trip is one of the sources of new tech in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Previously, we featured a new infinite combo concept using it; now, a new glitch has been discovered that allows her to bypass the restrictions that the move gives her, while also allowing her to have two active.

Normally, when Trish uses her Round Trip move, she loses her sword-based normal attacks and her ability to do the super move version of the round trip. However, as Finisherofwar demonstrates in the video below, there’s a way for her to get rid of these limitations–provided that she has meter.

All Trish needs to do is to activate a Team Hyper Combo into the Round Trip super, and then X-Factor cancel the start up of the THC immediately (before the rest of her team comes out). When she does this, she will regain her sword normals, as well as the ability to throw another Round Trip out.

Tekken 7’s input delay has been tested, here’s how it compares to other games and its predecessors

One of the big talking points for fighting game releases these days is how much built-in input delay a game has. Tekken 7 is no different, especially with reports of the game apparently having more input delay at higher resolutions.

To take a closer look at all of this, Noodalls–who developed the methodology for testing input delay on our forums–decided to do some testing on Tekken 7. The results, which you can see below, are quite interesting to say the least.

Tekken 7 has 120.1 milliseconds or, 7.206 frames of input delay. This, however, is with the game running at 1080p, which many competitive players have stated introduces input delay. As such, Noodalls also tested the game at 720p.

At 720p, Tekken 7’s input delay goes down to 119.9 ms, or 7.194 frames. While both are slightly above 7 frames, the extra milliseconds on the former means a higher chance of an input coming out on a later frame than the latter.

Both results however are higher than other games on the market. The recently released Injustice 2 has been clocked at approximately 100 ms, or 6 frames of delay by DisplayLag. Meanwhile, Street Fighter V–which is built on Unreal Engine 4 just like Tekken 7–currently has 117 ms, or 7.02 frames of input delay. The difference is much greater, however, compared to Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, which Noodalls tested with only 58.2 ms, or 3.492 frames of input delay.

More importantly, the results are higher than for previous iterations of Tekken. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 had only 95.51 ms, or 5.7 frames of delay on PlayStation 3 (though the numbers are much higher on Xbox 360, Xbox One via emulation, and Wii U).

Get to know Twintelle better in her new ARMS trailer

If there’s one breakout character from Nintendo’s upcoming ARMS, it has to be Twintelle. To say that the A-list actress has captured the hearts of the fans would be an understatement.

For those looking for more of Twintelle, Nintendo has just released a new trailer that’s all about her. The trailer below gives a glimpse of Twintelle in action, showing off various weapons, as well as her time-slowing sub-mechanic.

ARMS is set for a worldwide launch for Nintendo Switch on June 16. For those who can’t wait to get their hands on the game (and on Twintelle), the second “Global Testpunch” demo will run from June 2 to 4.

Bandai Namco’s Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray talk about building Tekken 7 in Unreal Engine 4

One of the big under-the-hood changes that Tekken 7 brings is the actual engine running it. For the first time ever, Bandai Namco has eschewed building a proprietary engine and has instead used Unreal Engine 4 as the base on which to build their game.

In the first of a new series of videos, Bandai Namco’s Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray discuss the reasons why they brought the game onto UE4 and what challenges they had to face.

The gist of it lies in the fact that building a proprietary engine for the game would simply take up too much time. By using an engine such as UE4, they can simply concentrate on making the game itself. Along the way, they talk about the many advantages that UE4 brings, such as using the engine’s built-in animation and physics system, as well as how easy it was to go from working on the code to actually testing the game out.

UPDATE: video #2 is now also available:

FGC News talks about the ELEAGUE Street Fighter V finals with Panda Global’s Punk

Last weekend, many weeks of Friday night Street Fighter V action reached its culmination at the ELEAGUE Street Fighter V Invitational finals. The road to the finals itself over the past few months has seen some amazing performances and surprising upsets, while at the same time solidifying certain players’ perceived dominance at the game.

In a new video, FGC News goes over the finals of ELEAGUE; specifically, they go over the competition between the final four players, BX3’s Armand “Phenom” Hanjani, Grpt|Keita “Fuudo” Ai, CYG BST|Eduardo “PR Balrog” Perez, and eventual champion Panda Global’s Victor “Punk” Woodley.

In addition to this, they also interview Punk regarding his thoughts on the game. These include who he thinks the top 3 Street Fighter V players are at the moment, his own ELEAGUE experience, as well as what his plans are moving forward–including whether or not he’ll stick to Karin.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite’s launch roster may have been leaked

The story of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite‘s development is one littered with repeated leaks. Aside from existence of a new Marvel Vs. game being leaked before Infinite’s official reveal at PSX, footage of the game from a press event was also released before the embargo was lifted. Now, however, it seems that we may have the biggest leak of them all.

In a post over at NeoGAF, Ryce–who was one of the posters behind previous leaks–has now posted a nearly-complete list of what may be the game’s launch roster. The list contains 14 named Marvel characters and 13 Capcom characters, which you can see below:

Marvel

  • Ant-Man
  • Captain America
  • Captain Marvel
  • Doctor Strange
  • Gamora
  • Hawkeye
  • Hulk
  • Iron Man
  • Nova
  • Rocket/Groot
  • Spider-Man
  • Thanos
  • Thor
  • Ultron

Capcom

  • Arthur
  • Chris
  • Chun-Li
  • Dante
  • Firebrand
  • Jedah
  • Monster Hunter
  • Morrigan
  • Nemesis
  • Ryu
  • Spencer
  • Strider Hiryu
  • X
  • [?]

You may note that one Capcom is missing a character. Ryce states that they aren’t certain who this is yet, but that it may be Frank West.

Additionally, Rocket Raccoon is listed as “Rocket/Groot.” Regarding this, Ryce states that they aren’t sure if this means Groot just comes out during some of Rocket’s moves like an assist, or if he’s been redesigned and actually a duo character actually named Rocket/Groot.

Now, as with all leaks, we suggest that you take this with a grain of salt. That said–with E3 just a few weeks away, we’re likely to learn more about the validity of this soon.

Watch those legs! Learn just how far Luong’s Climax reaches in The King of Fighters XIV

Luong’s “Ben,” her Climax Desperation Move in The King of Fighters XIV, is a move with rather deceptive range. The move seems to hit from nearly full screen, making the threat of it something players almost always have to deal with when fighting against her.

To fully demonstrate what ranges it actually will hit at, and what situations it can be used to punish, Foreverttw has put together this video that goes over the move in more detail. These include near full-screen punishes, as well as anti-air situations where she can either use it raw to punish, or combo into it. The video, which you can see below, is greatly helped by the game’s training stage–the floor’s distance markings demonstrating the ranges where it will hit more precisely.

Of course, for those sick and tired of getting hit by it, there’s also a bit of bonus footage at the end showing how it can be punished by Geese’s counter DM, leading into his Raging Storm DM, for big damage.

Don’t let them touch you! High-damage combos for Evil Ryu & Violent Ken in Ultra Street Fighter II

One a big addition to Ultra Street Fighter II: the Final Challengers on Nintendo Switch are the two new alternate “shotos”: Evil Ryu and Violent Ken. The initial impression of these two seems to indicate that both are very strong additions to the cast, able to dish out a lot of damage.

To demonstrate just how much damage Evil Ryu and Violent Ken can put out, noted combo video creator Dooplis has put together this combo video for them: “Bad Touch!”

As the video below demonstrates, a good chunk of their damage seems to come from the fact that they somehow ignore the 3 juggle rule for non-supers that the game has. Now while touch-of-death combos are something that already exist in Super Street Fighter II Turbo (the game that USFII builds on), this unique property of the two means that they can do massive damage in unique ways, compared to the returning cast.

Play WWE Superstar Alexa Bliss for a chance to win a copy of Tekken 7 at Wizard World Philadelphia

The home version of Tekken 7 finally launches on June 2, this Friday. For those in the Philadelphia area who’re thinking about picking up the game, here’s some great news: Wizard World Gaming will be giving away copies of the game for Xbox One and PlayStation 4–provided that you can beat a WWE Superstar.

Tekken 7, as a game, hasn’t been shy about being associated with pro-wrestling: the game has cosmetic DLC based on various New Japan Pro Wrestling performers and stables. For Wizard World Gaming’s WWE Superstar Challenge, all players have to do is try to beat WWE RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss. However, players shouldn’t think that this should be a walk in the park. Little Miss Bliss will have some assistance–with Bandai Namco’s Mark “MarkMan” Julio and a few others in her corner as coaches.

For interested players, Wizard World Gaming’s WWE Superstar Challenge will take place this Saturday, June 3 at Wizard World Philadelphia.
