SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy will have three more DLC characters by February 2019

“We’re triple trouble ya’ll, we’re gonna bring you up to speed, check it out.”

As you may already know, SNK recently announced Miss X as the next addition to the cast of SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy. Now, it turns out that the company has more in store for their experimental fighting game.

At a recent event hosted by Sega, SNK revealed that they are planning to add three more DLC characters to SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy. The characters are expected to arrive by February 2019.

As for Sega’s involvement, the company is the publisher for SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy in Korea, but this doesn’t necessarily mean a Sega character will be involved in the game.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is currently available for PlayStation 4 and Switch and Miss X is set to release on November 15.

Final Showdown showcases more advanced tag combos for Dragon Ball FighterZ

The last time Final Showdown made a tag team combo video for Dragon Ball FighterZ, the results were pretty impressive. Now he’s back with another combo video, once again focusing on tag team stuff.

The video below is actually a collection of various single clips he’s shared over social media for the past few months.  Interestingly enough, for these clips, he’s trying to give some more attention to villain characters that he normally doesn’t use. So expect to see a fair bit of Cell, Broly, and more in addition to his favorites such as Vegito and Teen Gohan.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction Special Edition launches in Europe on February 8

Europe at times gets the short end of the stick with the release schedule for some games. Happily, it seems that this wont be the case for BlazBlue: Central Fiction Special Edition for Switch.

PQube has announced that BlazBlue: Central Fiction Special Edition will be arriving in Europe on February 8 – one day after the Japanese release date.

For those not aware of this port, BlazBlue: Central Fiction Special Edition comes with all the DLC released for prior releases of Central Fiction on other platforms. In addition to this, it comes with a host of features that take advantage of the Switch’s unique form factor, including support for 2-player versus using the two JoyCons.

Bandai Namco may ban “inappropriate custom characters” from playing online in SoulCalibur VI

As previously reported, there’s been a bit of a brouhaha over the ability to use Create-A-Souls characters in SoulCalibur VI‘s ranked matches. The issues range from customs affecting the game’s balance, to players using hacks to create characters that are covered by custom items.

Now, Bandai Namco seems to be taking steps towards addressing the issue. On the game’s official Japanese site, a new warning has been put up stating that players who use “inappropriate custom characters” may risk having the ability to play online taken from them.

The warning itself doesn’t cite anything specific, not really stating what an “inappropriate custom character” is. That said, this may refer to hacked characters with items that are beyond the in-game size limits. Additionally, this may also apply to characters with designs that might be deemed obscene or offensive.

Whatever the case may be, it seems that Bandai Namco is aware of the issues, and is taking steps to address them.

Christie gets in on the action in this Dead Or Alive 6 trailer from Monday Night Streaks

The pro assassin is back in Dead or Alive 6‘s most explosive stage yet

After she was revealed at the Paris Games Week this past weekend, we were promised that a trailer for Dead Or Alive 6‘s Christie was forthcoming. Now, the trailer is finally here as Team NINJA debuted it during the Monday Night Streaks live stream.

The trailer shows off a bit of the game’s story mode, showing Christie pulling a gun on Bayman. Additionally, it also shows off a new stage set in what seems to be the aftermath of a major accident.

This new stage is somewhat reminiscent of the bottom half of the Scramble stage from Dead Or Alive 5, with exploding cars and trailers as danger zones, though the stage itself is brighter, and doesn’t seem to feature elevation changes.

The trailer itself hasn’t been uploaded officially yet, however, TopGaime was able to record it off the stream. Check it out below.

Dead or Alive 6 releases on February 15, 2019, on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Catch Dead or Alive 5: Last Round’s final fight at Monday Night Streaks streaming live from the Red Bull Gaming Sphere

Monday night (morning?) has plenty of fight for your viewing pleasure

Tuesday night isn’t the only time where high-level fighting game action takes place at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in Tokyo. Competition also heats up on Mondays with Monday Night Streaks which has been hosting fighting game tournaments for the past month.

This week’s edition features Dead Or Alive 5: Last Round and the game’s top Japanese players fighting it out for the ¥99,999 grand prize. Be sure to check it out as this is DOA5LR’s last week on Monday Night Streaks as the competition switches to Tekken 7 next month.

Off screen footage of Dead Or Alive 6 showcases some of the game’s new advanced mechanics

One of the themes of Team NINJA’s upcoming Dead Or Alive 6 is emphasizing the neutral game by increasing the consequences of getting hit. One of the ways this is being done is by giving players more options for guaranteed damage, using the game’s new meter system. A new combo video from EbabilGaming demonstrates just how this works out with some of the public demo builds of the game. The video below showcases combos for Kasumi and Marie Rose, done on the builds at the Tokyo Game Show and PAX Melbourne.

One of the main mechanics on show is the “Break Blow Cancel”” Here, players can cancel the game’s new Break Blow super moves with a correctly timed button press. This puts their opponent back on the ground in the Fatal Stun state where they cannot use counter holds to try to escape. The result is some of the impressive looking combos.

Christie confirmed for Dead Or Alive 6 at Paris Games Week

She puts the “sin” in assassin

Another series veteran was confirmed for Dead Or Alive 6 at Paris Games Week.  The “She Quan assassin” Christie was confirmed today at the event.

A screenshot of Christie was shared by Koch Media that was later confirmed by KOEI Tecmo Europe. The photo, which you can see in Koch Media’s tweet, shows off her new outfit for Dead Or Alive 6 as well as a new stage.

A veteran of the series since Dead Or Alive 3, Christie is an assassin who uses her She Quan style to deliver fast strikes and deadly mixups.  These tools made her a strong character throughout Dead Or Alive 5‘s various iterations, making her a familiar sight in tournaments.

KOEI Tecmo Europe has confirmed that a trailer for her would be coming soon, so stay locked on to Shoryuken for that and more fighting game news.

Dead Or Alive 6 arrives on PlayStation 4, PC, and XBox One on February 15, 2018.

Last chance qualifier registration and ticket sales for Capcom Cup 2018 are now live

Capcom Cup 2018 is less than a couple of months away. For players looking to head to Las Vegas to take a chance at getting into the event, or just spectating, the news you’ve been waiting for is now here. Both the registration for the last chance qualifier, as well as ticket sales for spectators for Capcom Cup 2018 are now open.

For players looking to enter the last chance qualifier, registration is now open over at Smash.gg. Entry costs $30 and will include admission into the Top 32 and Finals for those who don’t make it out of the last chance qualifier – provided that the players show up for their pools.

As for spectators, tickets are now available for purchase at the Luxor website. A two day pass for the event goes for $75.00. Those who do attend will not only see high level Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition action, but will also be treated to performances by Super Cr3w, DJ Qbert, as well as Del the Funky Homosapien with Domino and Dan the Automator – the artists behind the them for the G reveal trailer at Evo.

Tickets are limited however, so interested folks should book as soon as possible.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s full roster may just have been leaked

One of the things players are eagerly looking forward to in the lead up to this December’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the identities of the characters in the game. Recently however, an inadvertent leak may have just revealed the upcoming game’s entire roster.

The “leak” in question comes from photos posted in the imageboard 4chan. The photos seem to be of some promotional artwork and material for the game that happens to show off characters that have not yet been announced for the game. The characters supposedly “revealed” by this leak are as follows.

  • Shadow the Hedgehog (from Sonic the Hedgehog)
  • Banjo-Kazooie (from Banjo-Kazooie)
  • Isaac (from Golden Sun)
  • Ken (from Street Fighter)
  • Mach Rider (from Mach Rider)
  • Geno (from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars)
  • Chorus Kids (from Rhythm Heaven)

You can see them in this comparison of the game’s banners, including the “leaked” one, alongside the most recent one, and the one from E3 below.

In addition to these characters, artwork also appears of a previously unseen stage.

While the photos were posted anonymously, users were able to decode the blacked out name on the images. These names have since been traced to the LinkedIn profile of an account manager at Les Ateliers Marina, a French printing company who’s clients include Super Smash Bros. Ultimate developer Bandai Namco.

Of course, all of this information is unverified, and as such we suggest taking it all with a grain of salt. That said, interested players can check out more details on it, and how the supposed source was traced over in the thread on ResetEra.
