M. Bison Dishes Out Big Damage with V-Trigger Combos in Street Fighter V

M. Bison’s V-Trigger has changed a lot during the course of Street Fighter V’s development. Originally offering greater mobility by granting him a teleport dash–which is now his standard dash–the buff currently allows the dictator to crank out massive damage through enhanced special moves.

To demonstrate the damage M. Bison can do with his V-Trigger, UM Tyrant shared this new combo video for the character. Here, he demonstrates how M. Bison can extend both normal and Crush Counter combos by V-Trigger cancelling certain moves, including his heavy knee press.

Zangief’s EX Air Grab Catches Crouching Opponents on Wakeup in Street Fighter V

In a brand new Street Fighter V video, Avernaus shares a strange interaction with Zangief’s aerial spinning pile driver, the Borscht Dynamite. While the command throw in question should only hit opponents in the air, it seems that the EX version of said move can also grab crouching opponents on wakeup.

Take note that, as this is from an unlicensed version of the beta, it may be an unintended glitch or bug. Still, it’s interesting enough to keep in mind, so feel free to let us know what you think in the comments.

Skullgirls 2nd Encore Release Delayed to March 10 in Japan

Last summer, Arc System Works announced that it was releasing a localized version of Lab Zero Games’ Skullgirls 2nd Encore for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan. Originally set to release this January, the port has now been delayed.

According to the publisher, the release date has been moved back from January 28 to March 10.  No specific reason for the delay was given other than “quality improvements.”

Design director Mike “Mike Z” Zaimont, however, has stated that they are still addressing bugs in the PlayStation Vita version. He also confirmed that the handheld port will go global sometime after it lands in Japan.

While Skullgirls 2nd Encore for PlayStation 4 is already prevalent in other parts of the world, Arc System Works’ publishing will mark the first time the game’s additional content has been playable in Japan outside of arcades. Sadly, those eager to check out the impressive localized voice cast will have to wait a bit longer.

Street Fighter V Demo Playable at Select GameStop Locations

When Street Fighter V’s last beta phase ended last December, many assumed that this would be their last chance to play the game before release. However, it seems that there is another way to get your hands on it–provided you live near a GameStop, that is.

According reports from both r/StreetFighter and our own forums, a demo version of Street Fighter V is now playable at select GameStop locations around the United States.

The demo itself is running on the PlayStation 4 and only allows for one player to fight against the computer. Additionally, only six characters are currently playable: Ryu, Karin, Necalli,  Zangief, Nash and Birdie.

NeoHeir, who originally passed this information along on Reddit, has shared a video showing the demo in action.

Take note that not all GameStops will have the demo. If you know of one near you that does, feel free to share its location in the comments.

SNK Playmore Chief: Samurai Shodown Part of Revived Gaming Division’s Future Plans

PlayStation 4 is quickly garnering quite the library of console-exclusive fighting games, the latest of which is SNK Playmore’s King of Fighters XIV.

In a recent interview with Tencent, SNK gaming division chief Yutaka Noguchi explained this decision, saying the reason is primarily due to the high worldwide sales of Sony’s eighth generation console. PlayStation 4 has been the clear sales leader this generation, having sold over 35 million units as of this past holiday season.

That said, Noguchi repeated many of the same sentiments from his recent Famitsu interview, and mentioned that they are still looking to bringing more games to Steam and mobile platforms. He also said that SNK Playmore is not just working on the King of Fighters franchise, but other properties such as Samurai Shodown and Metal Slug as well.

Finally, Noguchi again addressed the possibility of his company working with Capcom on another Capcom vs. SNK, but his answer remained the same: a new crossover game would need to wait for some time due to the company’s game development just getting back on its feet.

All in all, SNK Playmore’s acquisition by Ledo Millenium is looking promising for fans of their various properties. Stay tuned for more details.

King of Fighters Anime, Live Action Drama in the Works

When SNK Playmore was acquired by Ledo Millenium last year, their new owners cited Marvel’s presence in various mediums as the future they envisioned for the company’s properties. Now, it seems we’re about to see their first steps in that direction (outside of King of Fighters XIV, of course) in 2016.

Chinese studio 37Games recently announced that they are currently developing both an anime adaptation and a live-action television drama based on the King of Fighters franchise.

37Games founder Li Yi Fei stated during the announcement that these series are important in helping “recreate” the King of Fighters property, something that isn’t as simple as just making new games.

While a release in North America is still being explored, the upcoming King of Fighters anime is expected to premiere in Japan, South Korea, and various parts of Southeast Asia sometime this year.

First 4 Figures Reveals Light-Up Amaterasu Statue, Pre-Orders Open Now

One of the great things about Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is that it features a cast pulled from classic Capcom games that haven’t seen recent releases. One of these characters is Amaterasu from Clover Studio’s groundbreaking Okami.

For fans of the furry goddess, First 4 Figures has announced that pre-orders for their Amaterasu figure are now open.

Two versions of the statue are currently available: a regular version, and a special limited edition with built in LED lighting. Both variants come with deluxe full-color packaging, a hand-numbered base, and an authenticity card that allows you to purchase the same product number for future pieces in this series.

The regular edition has a suggested retail price of $349.99 and the limited edition version is $384.99. Take note that First 4 Figures will set the number of limited edition statues to be produced after January 16, so be sure to order it as soon as possible.

Orders are expected to ship sometime in Q3 2016. In the meantime, check out some images of the limited edition figure below.

Taste the Rainbow with Ultra Street Fighter IV Remix’s Latest Update

Some of you may already be familiar with Ultra Street Fighter IV Remix, a PC mod that follows a similar train of thought as the Ultra’s Omega Mode but kicks it up a notch with faster movement and even crazier changes to the characters.

The team behind the mod recently dropped a brand new update that, in addition to fixing a few bugs, adds a little something extra in the form of a new “Koryu” edition mode. Serving as homage to the infamous Street Fighter II: Rainbow Edition bootleg, this mode turns the insanity up to 11 by adding explosions to Rolento’s pogo stick, turning Ken into a bullet hell boss, and so much more.

For a small sample of what Koryu introduces to Ultra Street Fighter IV Remix, check out the video below, and feel free to download the update here if you want to experience it first-hand.
