Redwolfxx Showcases an Amazing 74-Hit Combo for Chun-Li in Street Fighter V

One of the big questions regarding Street Fighter V is just how much players will be able to get out of its combo system. The game’s changes have left some wondering if it will allow for long, intricate combos.

A new video from Redwolfxx shows that there are still opportunities for interesting combos in the game. Specifically, he explores some maximum damage options available to Chun Li thanks to her V-Trigger.

The video itself is interesting for a couple of reasons. Aside from the fact that Redwolfx has modded his copy of the game to add a custom skin, they have also demonstrated an interesting property of Street Fighter V’s damage scaling system. While Critical Arts reset any damage scaling in a combo back to 50%, we see in the impressive 74-hit finale that it goes down slightly after reaching a certain threshold.

Learn How to Sin with This Extensive Guilty Gear Xrd Tutorial

As much as the tutorials and challenges included in modern fighting games have come along in teaching the basics, they still have quite a way to go in terms of teaching how or when to use a character’s moves. This leaves it up to the community to make up that gap and create more detailed tutorials.

ProblemSkater (via IPLAYWINNER) recently shared one such tutorial for Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. This 41-minute Sin Kiske guide covers all the basic parts of the newcomer’s gameplay, explaining his normals and specials, the unique “calorie” meter, and more.

This video is a must-watch for anyone looking to pick Sin up, and due to the lack of major changes in -REVELATOR-, should be useful for some time.

Tokido Takes Nash for a Spin in Street Fighter V

Street Fighter V’s last beta saw a number of players head online to play the game with the assumption that it would be their last chance before the game drops in February.

One of those players was none other than Mad Catz’ Hajime “Tokido” Taniguchi. In this replay uploaded by Olympic Gaming, Tokido (playing under the account name zet-famillia) chooses returning character Nash against a Ryu player. The match itself showcases some of Nash’s tools in the matchup, including how he can use his Sonic Boom to maintain pressure after a grounded anti-air.

Olympic Gaming also shared a handful of other replays, with matches featuring LiangHuBBB’s Ryu, an interesting grappler versus grappler match between Nutrient’s Birdie and Pablosuke’s Zangief, and iiDxutj showing off some Dhalsim zoning.

Cancel Dashes to Extend Throw Range in Street Fighter V

One little known technique in Street Fighter IV is the ability to cancel some characters’ dashes to slightly extend their range slightly and, now, it seems that this also exists in Street Fighter V.

In their new video, Ilitirit demonstrates how, by canceling a dash, players can extend Ryu’s range enough to be able to throw from a distance he normally wouldn’t be able to.

As for how this works, it’s speculated that this happens because the reeling animation that pulls Ryu back at the end of his dash isn’t counted as part of the move. Rather, it’s a state between dashing and standing meant to make the animation look smoother that, nonetheless, counts as being back in neutral.

What seems to extend the range is the fact that the character’s center point is further out at the end of the dash before the reeling animation pulls it back. Canceling it keeps that center point from moving back, allowing for the extended range.

Please remember that, as this was discovered in a beta build, it’s entirely possible that it won’t be present in the final release.
