Dead or Alive 5 Last Round’s Fighters Become Superheroes in Latest Costume Pack

Team NINJA has yet another themed costume pack in store for Dead or Alive 5 Last Round fans. “Fighter Force” will see the cast suit up in outfits reminiscent of superheroes from American comic books and Japanese television shows.

To help set the mood, Team NINJA recently dropped a brand new trailer that plays out like a summer blockbuster. One interesting thing to note is how scenes from the game’s story mode are shown, but with the characters using the new costumes. Whether or not this means that this will be the first set of costumes that can be utilized in the story, however, is as of yet unknown.

Check out the trailer below and share your thoughts in the comments.

Dead or Alive 5 Last Round’s Fighter Force pack will be coming sometime this summer.

Beware the Old Lady in Mortal Kombat X’s New Stage Brutalities

Mortal Kombat X recently received a hefty new patch, and while it brought a variety of changes to the cast, two new additions not listed in the official notes are quite…unique.

This new content comes in the form of a pair of brutalities featuring none other than the interactable old lady (lovingly named Blanche by the community) in the Outworld Marketplace stage.

To see these new finishers, players will need to use at least two interactables in the stage during the match and then first, and then use Blanche to finish the opponent off. If performed successfully, she will cause the opposing player to explode when she crashes into them.

You can also give Blanche the satisfaction of actually putting up a fight herself by holding down as you defeat the opponent, which results in the brutality variation seen below.

Good on you, Blanche.

RChusan, Leslie, and ZeroKage Battle at Mortal Kombat X Asia Pacific Championship’s Singapore Qualifier

Among those in attendance were South East Asia Majors 2013 Injustice: Gods Among Us champion RChusan, looking to make his mark again in yet another NetherRealm Studios game, as well as ZeroKage and Leslie, that latter of which took a break from beasting Ultra Street Fighter IV competitions with Sagat to test out Mortal Kombat X’s Kung Jin.

Sadly, the event wasn’t streamed, but the finals matches were recorded and can be viewed below courtesy of GameStart Asia.

If you’re interested in seeing more of what this region brings to the table in Mortal Kombat X, be sure to go back and watch replays from the Philippine qualifier as well.

Make the Most Out of Kitana’s New ‘Pretty Kick’ in Mortal Kombat X

As part of the changes in Mortal Kombat X’s latest patch, Kitana received a brand new normal called the Pretty Kick. Done by hitting back and 3 (front kick), this new normal not only hits low, but also leads to some combos.

To demonstrate the possibilities of this move, Hey Ge0rge has put together a brand new video that highlights the new combos available to Kitana throughout all three of her variations. As with most of Kitana’s combos, the ones below do a lot of damage for little meter. The low starter, however, means that the princess now has a better chance of landing these compared to her previous starters, which all hit mid.

Japan Shows Off Their Killer Instinct Skills at KVO x TSB 2015

When it comes to Killer Instinct, most people don’t really associate the series with high-level competitive play from Japan. That said, there does exist a competitive player base for the game in the land of the rising sun.

During the recently concluded KVO x TSB 2015, a number of Japanese players fought in a set of first-to-five matches, showcasing just what their community has to offer.

We’ve posted the finals matches from the event below, but be sure to head on over to the official playlist for more.

If this has piqued your interest in Japan’s Killer Instinct scene, OGTY will be holding another tournament this summer.

Ermac’s Master of Souls Variation Can Completely Drain Your Meter in Mortal Kombat X

In Mortal Kombat X, Ermac’s Master of Souls variation is equipped with projectile that, when meter-burned, can drain a single stock of meter from the opponent on hit. However, it turns out that this move can be improved significantly.

In the video below, El Chakotay demonstrates how Ermac can now cause his opponent’s resources to draining past that single bar, by first hitting them with a regular Soul Ball and eventually following that up with the meter-burned version. The only way for this to stop is if the opponent is hit with another attack from Ermac.

Check out the video below, but please take note that some of the language used here may be a bit NSFW.

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R PC Release Possibly Revealed by Korean Game Rating Board

ggxxacpr-kyholyordersol

Guilty Gear fans looking to play the Arc System Works series on PC have traditionally been out of luck, as only two older versions of the game have been ported to the platform so far. That however is looking to change, as a listing for Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R recently popped up in Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee database.

While it’s not Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-,  this installment still has a sizable following with a good number of players still playing thanks to XX’s long tenure in the community. For many, the game is considered the pinnacle of the series.

The company behind this port is listed as H2 Interactive, the same South Korean company responsible for backing the Steam releases of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger and BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND. This most likely means that, if this pushes through, we’ll be seeing Guilty Gear on Valve’s service sometime in the future.

IPT|Alden Demonstrates What Mu-12 Can Dish Out in BlazBlue: Chronophantasma EXTEND

BlazBlue: Chronophantasma EXTEND is now out on consoles which means that it’s once again time for many players to start hitting the lab.

Awhile back, we featured some new Valkenhayn combos by the Imperium Pro Team’s Gelo “McArthur” Morelos, and now his teammate, Alden Jacob, steps up to the plate with combos for Mu-12.

As with the previous video, the combos shown here are all practical and meant to be used in matches. That said, as this is Mu-12, a few of the longer ones do require some setup with her satellites, with the extension changing depending on their placement.
