Late last month, Final Round 18 in Atlanta, Georgia hosted the another installment of Michael “TSC|IFC Yipes” Mendoza’s Curleh Mustache invitational series. As part of the Battle Royale line, this Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 competition saw teams from Florida, Atlanta, New York, Northern and Southern California, and even Korea battle it out.

For those who missed the action, the official replays were recently uploaded to catch up. Below, we’ve shared the finals matches between Florida, represented by IG|FullSchedule, Marvelo, GreenAce, Flocker, and Flash Metroid; the Alternate Time East Coast team of UVG|Noel Brown, JRosa, EG|K-Brad, PAG|Crazy Joe, and TMP|NYChrisG; and NorCal’s CJ Showstopper, Neo, EG|PR Balrog, EM|Taekua, and Filipino Champ.

Tekken 7’s latest time-release character, Devil Jin, is now playable in arcade cabinets all over Japan.

The second such release after normal counterpart Jin Kazama, this demonic fighter brings many of his previous gameplay conventions to the table as well as some new tools made possible by the new title’s updated mechanics.

For those curious about how he plays, GuntamaMiraclein has uploaded a couple of videos showing some Devil Jin matches as well as an extended practice mode session. Give them some of your time and let us know what you think.

Lab Zero recently had their first Skullgirls: Encore Salty! broadcast for the month of April. This edition focused mostly on new updates for Robo-Forune, the game’s upcoming DLC character.

The big news is that Robo-Fortune now has a second special move: a mid-air beam attack that goes in two directions. In addition to this, lead programmer Mike Z also gives a few more updates on her as well as the status of Beowulf whose patch has already been submitted to Sony for certification. Sadly, Microsoft certification for the grappler is going to take a bit longer due to “minor issues,” but Beowulf otherwise complete.

In every game, players tend to develop shared habits and tendencies due to how the game’s mechanics work. That said, falling into these habits and tendencies may not always be beneficial for high level play.

In his latest video, Jiyuna takes a look at Persona 4 Arena Ultimax players and breaks down the 5 biggest bad habits and mistakes that players make. The mistakes here oftentimes cost players their matches. Even so, many of these habits are quite simple to fix.

When considering point characters to add to the team of Dante and Vergil in Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Amaterasu isn’t usually the first name that comes up.  However, it seems that the Sun Goddess actually does have some good synergy with the two half-demons from Devil May Cry.

In his latest video for the game, Pepopulo demonstrates just what Amaterasu can do when paired with these two. The video below contains a good number of highly optimized combos, building good meter while dealing damage. Additionally, one of the combos does enough to take out Thor, the character with the highest number of hit points in the game.

One very strong defensive technique in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is the “fuzzy jump.”  Using this allows players easily defend certain strings and setups that lead into a throw (and possibly more combos).

In his latest video Lord Knight explains the theory behind these fuzzy jumps and demonstrates how players can learn to apply them in game. Additionally, he also shows how to stop opponents who try to use fuzzy jumps.

The rebooted Killer Instinct recently received a new character in the form of the ghostly Hisako. For those wanting to try her out, Geoff the Hero has uploaded a new video that teaches players her basics.

Information covered in the video below includes a breakdown of her unique trait, footsie tools, applications for each of her special moves, and some combos that players can use. You’re obviously going to need to put in some work before you become adept at utilizing the full range of Hisako’s abilities, but this should be a great starting point.
