Supreme Victory! AcidGlow Showcases Killer Instinct’s New Downtown Demolition Stage Ultra

One of the new additions to season two of Killer Instinct is the fact that every character now gains a arena-specific Ultra on TJ Combo’s stage, Downtown Demolition. For those who want to see what these look like, AcidGlow has put together a video showing how each and every character utilizes the foreground item.

This powerful attack uses a wrecking ball that swings into the stage. Instead of just a regular juggle, the wrecking ball smacks the target character being comboed into a billboard in the background.

Eliza Now Available for Skullgirls Encore on Xbox 360

eliza_622

While new downloable character Eliza has been available for Skullgirls Encore players on PlayStation 3 and PC for some time, those on Xbox 360 haven’t been as lucky. Due to a previously undiscovered bug, the patch for Eliza had to be delayed on Microsoft’s platform. Happily, the bug has been addressed and Eliza is now available for download on Xbox 360.

This update will consist of a title update for version 1.03 and a new compatibility pack, as well as the downloadable content for Eliza herself. The title update brings a good number of changes to game and its existing characters, a complete list of which you’ll find here.

As with all of characters funded through the Lab Zero Games’ Indiegogo campaign, Eliza will be free to download for the next three months.

Perfect Legend, RG|SonicFox, and TSC|CDjr Keep Mortal Kombat Alive at The Fall Classic 2014

While it wasn’t one of the main games at the event, The Fall Classic 2014’s Mortal Kombat competition still brought a ton of intensity to last weekend. After all was said and done, multiple Evolution champion Carl “Perfect Legend” White found himself facing some pretty tough competition in the finals.

First up, he had to face The Steam Co.’s CD Jr, a well-known Mortal Kombat champion in his own right, to advance to the grand finals match, where he would then face off against multi-game specialist Sonic Fox from Revolution Gaming during the grand finals.

If you missed out on Kombat Network’s live broadcast during the event, you’ll find archives below courtesy of Perfect Legend himself. With Mortal Kombat X on the horizon, this may be one of the last times we see its predecessor on display at a large tournament, so soak it up.

Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate Celebrates Halloween with Fan-Made Costumes

Last year, Team NINJA marked Halloween with a bunch of appropriately-themed costumes for Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate. This year, they’re doing it again, but this time around the costumes are special in that they’re based on fan submissions from a designer challenge they held last summer. That means that each one of the new costumes that they’re adding comes straight from the community’s imagination.

The selected costumes are less traditional than last year and includes some more Japanese-style costumes, such as a sumo wrestler outfit for Bass. This new round of downloadable content also makes it so that characters like Marie Rose, Phase-4, and Nyotengu, who weren’t around for Halloween last year, have special alternates of their own.

Feel free to check out the trailer and screenshot gallery below, and let us know which of these costumes are your favorites.

Pepeday’s El Fuerte Takes on Snake Eyez, TS|Arturo Sanchez, 801 Strider, and PIE|PoeM in Ultra Street Fighter IV at The Fall Classic 2014

Aside from the Capcom Pro Tour qualifier, one of the most exciting bits of Ultra Street Fighter IV action at The Fall Classic 2014 this weekend was an exhibition match between Snake Eyez and Pepeday. Both players are considered masters of their respective grappler characters: Snake Eyez finished in the top eight at Evolution 2014 with Zangief, while Pepeday took a surprise victory at the Mad Catz Tokyo Game Show 2014 tournament using El Fuerte.

With Pepeday able to attend TFC 2014 thanks to the efforts of the members of the community, the stage was set for these two grapplers to face off against each other. For those who either missed the exhibition, or simply want to relive the moment, Team Spooky was quick to upload an archive.

The Japanese visitor also paid a visit to a Salty Suite during his trip to North Caroline, where he faced off against competitors such as Team Spooky’s Arturo “Sabin” Sanchez, 801 Strider, and PoeM of Team PIE. You’ll find replays of those matches below.
