Although Mortal Kombat X’s popularity exploded on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at launch, the PC port was hampered by some rather glaring issues, many of which extended in to the early parts of the following month before being corrected. Due to the mess created by third-party developer High Voltage Software, NetherRealm Studios eventually had to step in themselves, and it appears as if their latest solution has introduced yet another entity to clean things up.

Recent changes in Mortal Kombat X’s data indicate that Polish company QLOC S.A. is currently in the process of making background changes to the Steam title. While the name may not be familiar, the studio has had their hands in many titles over the past few years, including Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition and Street Fighter x Tekken’s respective PC ports.

According to QLOC’s website, they are capable of handling projects in need of porting and quality assurance, which definitely fits the bill for Mortal Kombat X. In fact, they may already be familiar with the Steam version, as a press release put out by fellow SoftClub affiliate Cenega in April mentioned that the team was in charge of porting the title to areas like the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Hungary, and their native Poland.

We are currently unable to confirm if High Voltage has been completely removed from development or if they are just receiving a helping hand from QLOC. At the time of writing, we have received no response from any of the individuals involved, though it’s likely the hustle and bustle of E3 2015 is keeping them busy. We will be sure to update this article should we hear back.

In any event, this is great news for fans of Mortal Kombat X without access to a home platform, and hopefully the lingering issues see some relatively quick clean-up from this fresh set of eyes.

After numerous multiple-tournament weekends, fighting game action is set to narrow down to a single event over the next couple of days, but that doesn’t mean competition will be any less intense.

South East Asia Major has grown by leaps and bounds since it launched in 2012, and this year’s installment is ready to put those that came before it to shame. As a premier stop on the Capcom Pro Tour, the brackets are full of killers looking to earn automatic entry into Capcom Cup later this year. Some of the more notable players you can expect to see in attendance include Mad Catz’ Daigo Umehara, Tokido, and Mago; Kim1234, Shiro, KichijojiKEN, and Super Santarou Man of YUBIKEN; AVerMedia’s Gamerbee; Xian, Fuudo, Itabashi Zangief, RB, and Gackt of Razer; QANBA’s Xiaohai and Dakou; Humanbomb of Canada Cup Gaming; Evil Geniuses’ Momochi; Nemo of The Black Eye; Falcon Arena’s Big Bird; Kindevu; Chuan; MOV; Dark Jiewa; Dogura; Eita; Pugera; Kazunoko; Infiltration; Marn; Misse; Poongko; and Bonchan. And that’s just for Street Fighter!

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, BlazBlue: Chronophantama EXTEND, Mortal Kombat X, and Tekken 7 are also set to receive some love, so don’t think it’s all about Ultra Street Fighter IV.

As part of their E3 2015 festivities, Capcom and Sony revealed that the previously announced beta program for Street Fighter V will commence on PlayStation 4 this summer, starting July 23. While the details only pertained to residents of North America, we now have a clearer view of how folks around the world can participate.

Much like the the rest of the western hemisphere, residents of South American countries like Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay are only required to pre-order the game through PlayStation Network to gain access to the beta.

Unfortunately, things won’t be as easy for fans in Europe, Africa, Australia, and the Middle East. Instead of a simple “pre-order and play the beta” system, players will need to submit a sort of application to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe for a mere chance at joining the program. If you happen to live in any of these areas, filling out the survey requires information about your history with fighting games, how many Player Points (PP) you’ve accrued playing Street Fighter IV, and more.

Players in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore will have to wait until July 9 to sign up.

Areas outside of North and South America are, without a doubt, getting the short end of the stick here, and it’s a shame a similar system couldn’t be worked out for other regions worldwide. There may be hope in the Steam beta planned for this fall, but few details have been provided for that public testing phase at this point in time.

After a ridiculous mid-season showdown, ESL’s Mortal Kombat X competition returns to its regular weekly schedule with their fifth outing. A recent qualifier narrowed the playing field down to sixteen competitors, and those players will be going at each other’s throats tonight to prove they have what it takes to do well in this new arrival to the fighting game community.

During their E3 2015 press conference on Monday, Microsoft announced that backwards compatibility will be rolling out on Xbox One sometime this holiday season. While the launch lineup is rather paltry, it was mentioned that they will be taking fan feedback into account when pursuing other titles.

In order to make this process a little easier, Xbox has opened up individual topics on their official forums for, if not the entire run of Xbox 360, a fair majority of releases from the previous console. As such, we’ve taken the opportunity to collect each and every fighting game and list them below for your convenience.

In one of the most shocking reveals of E3 2015, Capcom community manager Peter “Combofiend” Rosas confirmed that Street Fighter V is set to join the Capcom Pro Tour during his time on Twitch’s official broadcast.

Established in 2013 with the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary tournament series, Capcom Pro Tour brings together some of the world’s strongest competition to face off in the studio’s iconic fighting franchise. While the game lineup has shrunk over the past couple of years, the same definitely can’t be said of the rewards. Thanks to their partnership with Sony, Capcom has put up an insane $500,000 prize pool for Capcom Cup 2015.

In all seriousness, Street Fighter V’s inclusion was a foregone conclusion. As Capcom Cup has shifted to focus entirely on Street Fighter, there was absolutely no way the upcoming title wouldn’t appear at some point. The only question now is how long Ultra Street Fighter IV will last with the sequel on its way.
