Unstoppable Jason Voorhees Doesn’t Need Legs or Even a Head to Revive in Mortal Kombat X

It’s no secret that Mortal Kombat X has had its fair share of glitches since launching in April. From insane meter gain for both Ermac and Kung Lao to some rather powerful applications for stage interactables, the folks at NetherRealm Studios have been rather busy patching the title over the last few months to correct issues that went undiscovered during testing.

Fortunately, the latest glitch finding is far from game-breaking and actually quite funny. As shown in the video below from Xhogar Varthus, if guest character Jason Voorhees happens to be downed by a specific Kenshi brutality, his Unstoppable variation’s revive mechanic will still go into effect. This allows the horror icon to live up to his reputation and rise from the dead despite his lack of lower appendages, leaving him floating in the air and still ready to fight.

Turn around, Kenshi! He’s right behind you!

This also occurs when Jason is facing Raiden and is beaten by the “head pop” finisher.

Since these were performed with a variety of Test Your Luck modifiers in place, it remains to be seen whether or not they will happen in a real match. Still, it’s a nice change of pace for Mortal Kombat X glitches to simply provide some humor instead of sending the community into a flurry of discussion over their legitimacy in competitive play.

Chaos Code Patch Pushed to Consoles in North America and Europe

chaoscode-622-crop

Remember Chaos Code? While it never quite took off in the west, developer FK Digital has continued to support their flagship fighter in Japan, resulting in a handful of patches and post-launch character additions.

Fortunately, they haven’t forgotten about their fans in North America and Europe. A brand new update was recently made available for the game on PlayStation 3, bringing with it a number of changes to the existing gameplay systems and cast.

Mortal Kombat X’s Kung Lao Builds Quick Meter with Newly-Discovered Bug

UPDATE (10:37 AM PDT) – According to NetherRealm Studios’ Paulo Garcia, the developers have known about this issue for some time and will be patching it out in the next major update. He also stated that the Ermac meter drain bug we reported on yesterday should be hotfixed out of the game sometime today.

Special thanks go out to thisguywhoisnotimportant for making us aware of this in the comments.

Glitches on glitches on glitches.

Although Mortal Kombat X recently saw extensive fixing with its most recent patch, some new problems have arisen with another veteran fighter. Apparently, if Kung Lao performs a teleport on wakeup, he gains a full bar of meter, an issue very similar to a corrected Ermac bug. This time around, however, the glitch isn’t confined to a single variation.

Of course, this also comes with its own unique situations due to its rather unsafe nature. Sure, you get a free bar of meter, but if your opponent happens to be waiting for the teleport, they can easily punish with their highest-damage combo. Then again, the extra resources can instantly give a crafty Kung Lao access to a breaker, making this hypothetical combo all for naught should it connect.

In any case, it’s apparent that this was more than likely not meant to be in the game, and it remains to be seen what NetherRealm Studios intends to do about it, as their hotfix system gives them the ability to address bugs like this on a regular basis. But with Combo Breaker hosted in Chicago this weekend and an additional $10,000 on the line, it’s going to be hard to find a winning strategy that makes everyone happy.

M. Bison Unleashes His Psycho Power on Street Fighter V

While we’ve known M. Bison will be a part of Street Fighter V for some time, today we finally get our first look at what he brings to the table in a brand new reveal trailer from the folks at Capcom.

In the video below, the Dictator wreaks havoc like only he can, dishing out damage with his unique fighting style. Bison appears to retain much of the moveset that’s made him popular over the years, including his Psycho Crusher and teleport, but also seems to bust out attacks that weren’t seen in Street Fighter IV, like the Psycho Shot projectile.

You may also notice a rather prominent lightening of Bison’s hair, which lends credence to our theory that this game takes place after Street Fighter III.

For a closer look at M. Bison’s upcoming Street Fighter V appearance, check out the trailer below.

Street Fighter V will be available for PlayStation 4 and PC.
