Dark Chaotix Shares Some Deadly Leona Combos in King of Fighters XIII

With the recent reveal that she will be playable in King of Fighters XIV, now is as good a time as any to look back at what Leona Heidern can pull off in the King of Fighters XIII.

That’s exactly what Orochinagi’s Dark Chaotix has done in his latest combo video. Aside from being stylish and using nearly all of the tools she has at her disposal, the combos shown here are also quite deadly.

In addition to the above, Dark Chaotix also shared a supplementary video that shows him performing some of the combos manually, with the camera pointed at his hands.

Capcom Alters Some of Street Fighter V’s More Risqué Cinematics

It’s no secret that Street Fighter V features a fair amount of provocative imagery, from R. Mika’s revealing wrestling outfit to Laura Matsuda’s voluptuous figure. Now, I don’t want to spend too much time dwelling on the rights and wrongs of these designs, but it wouldn’t be going too far to say they’ve garnered a good deal of attention over the past few months.

With a consistent stream of footage being released to the public, fans have been able to compare and contrast various Street Fighter V builds ad nauseam, and a new discovery seems to indicate that Capcom recently toned down two cinematics that have contributed to the game’s risqué reputation.

First up, R. Mika. Like we mentioned above, her outfit complements her over-the-top personality, and her Critical Art originally drew even more attention to this with that infamous butt slap. But in new footage from IGN, we can see that the game camera no longer focuses on the wrestler’s backside, instead choosing to simply imply what’s happening off-screen.

We’ve included both versions in GIF form, courtesy of videos from IGN and ADAPT Chance, below. You may also notice that Mika and tag partner Nadeshiko no longer pull the opponent’s legs into a split.

And that’s not all. Cammy’s intro appears to have been slightly altered as well, placing the lower end of her iconic leotard, and subsequently her crotch, off-screen by way of a new camera angle. This adjustment is a little less overt than the one above, but still noticeable when you see the two cinematics side by side. Revolution 2015 Day 3 Streaming Live from London, England

This weekend, Nth Gen Interactive will be presenting the third installment of their Revolution tournament series at the Bolney Meadow Community Center.

Revolution 2015 is set to feature a wide array of airdashers, including Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, BlazBlue: Chronophantasma EXTEND, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late, Arcana Heart 3 LOVE MAX!!!!!, Dengenki Bunko Fighting Climax, Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, and Aquapazza. While folks in Europe often receive the short end of the stick when it comes to fighter localization, their dedication persists, and this tournament will be the perfect opportunity to highlight their efforts.

In addition to competition in the aforementioned titles, Revolution 2015 will also feature playable demos of Street Fighter V and Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel for attendees.

Smash Summit Day 4 Streaming Live from Los Angeles, California (11/8 12:00)

Beyond the Summit is kicking the weekend off early with Smash Summit, a unique Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament that will see invited players face off against others that were voted in by the community.

Apart from the main tournament, the Los Angeles-based organization will be hosting four days of competition and interviews, complete with various challenges (detailed in the graphic below) that will force players to use strategy outside of the game in order to succeed.

Today, StrikeFirst Colorado and Mile High Burst will present the third installment of their Focus Attack Donate Cans charity event. Last year, the Denver fighting game community was able to raise over 1,300 cans of food and 35 frozen turkeys for the Denver Rescue Mission, with countless more provided by monetary donations, and they’re looking to break that record in November.

Like any tournament, competition will be held in games like Street Fighter, Marvel, and Guilty Gear, but with a unique twist when it comes to entry fees. Venue entry will cost $10, with five cans of nonperishable food required to register for each game. Attendees that plan to only play one or two titles but want to donate more will receive a raffle ticket for every ten cans they donate after that. All cash donations will go towards purchasing more frozen turkeys.

Leave Opponents Spinning with These Laura Setups in Street Fighter V

With a short Street Fighter V stress test in effect, folks have been jumping into the beta build for another fix. This time around, however, newcomer Laura Matsuda is playable, providing us with a sampling of gameplay from players eager to figure out her secrets before the game launches next year.

Skullgirls 2nd Encore for PlayStation Vita Still Undergoing Optimization

When the game that would eventually become Skullgirls 2nd Encore was first announced, Lab Zero Games was aiming to launch the title on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. So far, only the former has materialized, leaving fans of the franchise waiting on the mobile port.

The developers recently devoted an AMA session on Reddit to discussing their current project, Indivisible, but also took time to answer a number of Skullgirls questions. One such question had to do with the whereabouts of the Vita version, and designer Earl “Earlfriend” Gertwagen was quick to provide insight.

“Skullgirls 2nd Encore for Vita is still undergoing optimization, and there are a number of bugs to take care of that, while somewhat small, we feel are unacceptable to ship with,” Gertwagen explained. “We want it to be on par with other fighting game releases for that platform, and it’s unfortunately not there yet.”

Gertwagen would go on to say that they “grossly underestimated” the amount of work putting Skullgirls on Vita would take, which, combined with the added goal of releasing the game in Japan, made for quite a delay.

Skullgirls creative director Alex Ahad also tackled a couple of questions regarding the possibility of a sequel as well as alternate ways they are looking into sharing more of the elaborate story. While a follow-up isn’t currently in the works, Ahad expressed interest in putting together a Hyrule Historia-esque artbook to collect more of the universe’s lore in one place.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction Launches on November 19

BlazBlue: Central Fiction will be heading to Japanese arcades on November 19, according to new details released by develop Arc System Works just this morning.

In addition to applying new gameplay mechanics like Exceed Accel, an Overdrive-exclusive super move, and Active Flow, a powered-up state activated by continual offensive maneuvers, Central Fiction marks the debut of two new playable characters in Naoto Kurogane and Hibiki Kohaku. Numerous hints have been dropped that Nine, one of the BlazBlue universe’s legendary heroes, will also be playable, but details on that front are currently limited.
