Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Available for Pre-Purchase on Amazon

Just a week after being showcased at Capcom Cup, the latest installment in the Marvel Vs. franchise has a listing on Amazon: both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are available, slated to ship December 31st 2017. That date is certainly just a placeholder, as there is no official release date announced yet.

The Amazon listing doesn’t add anything that we didn’t already know about the game, and is available for $59.99–Amazon Prime members should also receive a discount, picking the title up for $47.99. If a lower price is announced or any additional pre-order bonuses appear through Amazon, those should be adjusted into your pre-order.

Rise Up: Capcom Cup 2016 Celebrated with Restrospective Video and Amazing Anthem

Capcom has been pumping up their Pro Tour all year long, mostly using the tournaments themselves to build hype. One side of the community that is rarely touched upon is the musical side; this video highlights many key moments of the event and of the players’ journeys through still images and quick video clips, all played overtop Capcom Cup 2016’s anthem, produced by Cardell.

Check Out These Brawlhalla World Championship 1v1 and 2v2 Highlights

Brawlhalla is a game that falls under the radar for many of us. Being one of the growing library of Super Smash Bros.-styled fighters, it has a bit of a hard time standing out despite its very unique gameplay. Being a game that offers players a lot of customization–both in the character’s appearance and their playstyle–the game has a high satisfaction rate among people who do give it a try.

The World Championship for the game was held last month, though that’s not too far behind for people to still enjoy its matches. Brawlhalla’s YouTube channel just posted the highlights for the tournaments, which are still a thing of beauty to watch.

There was also a 2v2 tournament, similar to the Super Smash Bros tournament standard “Doubles,” which you can enjoy below.

Toki wo Tomare! Urien Stops Time for Ken in Street Fighter V with This Glitch

Bugs are an inescapable part of any game, but with fighting games they are something else. The right–or wrong–kind of bug can tip the scale of power to one player, to the extent that one player will almost always win. That’s not all bugs are, though: sometimes, bugs can be an integral part of gameplay over time, which define the lifecycle and playstyle of a game. This bug we’re talking about is definitely the former.

As TOOLASSISTED shows us, Urien is capable of completely freezing time Ken with Aegis Reflectors. This effect keeps Ken in a frozen state, capable of being pushed and hit without falling out of the frozen frame. This lets hit effects stack, leading to a wonky looking screen filled with special effects.

Jumping over him and hitting him from the other side results in his turn animation starting but not finishing, and the only way to make him fall out of it appears to be with Urien’s Critical Art or EX Metallic Sphere. It appears that because these moves force an action on the defender after their hitstun ends, this allows Ken to fall out of the glitch.

Garou: Mark of the Wolves is Now Suddenly Available on Steam

After the game was announced to be getting a remastered port for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, it was left up in the air whether or not we’d get a Steam release of Garou: Mark of the Wolves. It was likely, but with no official announcement we were left guessing. Luckily, that guessing period lasted mere days as a Steam version of the game has shown up today. Check out the direct link to the game here.

While it would seem at a glance that this release would be more-or-less identical to the PlayStation release, this is not the case. With no Gallery, no Ranked mode, and fewer of the art borders that appeared in the trailer for the PlayStation release, this port seems a bit lacking in comparison. There also are fans complaining of audio lag, input lag, and frame drops plaguing this version; these problems will hopefully be patched soon enough, but for now the PlayStation release seems to be the way to go.

Capcom Cup Viewership Ratings on ESPN2 Only 87,000, DotEsports Analyzes Competitors

Capcom Cup was about as high-profile as you can get for fighting games. Between the massive prize pot, a year’s worth of accumulated hype, and an airing on ESPN2, there aren’t many tournaments who can boast the same accomplishments. That said: this success doesn’t necessarily correlate directly to viewership.

As DotEsports points out in their writeup, Capcom Cup listed as garnering a total of 87,000 viewers that night on ESPN2. This is lower than EVO 2016, which scored over 200,000 viewers, but we have some things to keep in mind when looking at this data. They point out that Capcom Cup was competing that night with heavy hitters such as AMC’s The Walking Dead (10 Million viewers) and NFL’s Seattle Seahawks vs. Carolina Panthers (18 Million viewers). This is a stark contrast to Evo 2016’s biggest TV competitior, which was ABC’s Match Game (5.8 Million viewers).

They also go over key demographics for Capcom Cup, which the tournament did manage to reach in a satisfying manner. We’re left with the impression that ESPN was happy with these ratings, from their own statements: “[The Capcom Cup] met our strategic objectives to experiment with new formats and programming and engage new fans,” adding that they “will continue to look to deliver championship events that meet those objectives.”

SonicFox Announces He is Moving on from Team Critical Reaction

Very few in our community have yet to hear about the exploits of Dominique ‘SonicFox’ Mclean. After blazing a trail through Mortal Kombat and becoming a phenomenon across multiple games through consecutive years, this young star etched his name into FGC history. Through most of his highest profile accomplishments, SonicFox has worn the Critical Reaction jersey and tag, but that will no longer be the case.

It’s hard to imagine the Fox without that almost iconic cR before his name. While he hasn’t announced any plans on moving to any other team, there are many teams out there that would be proud to add him to their roster. Time will tell where SonicFox ends up, and we almost certainly can look forward to seeing SonicFox gracing headlines again in the near future.

Learn to Optimize Your Damage in the Corner with Parasoul in Skullgirls 2nd Encore

Skullgirls is one of the most freeform games on the market. Between the ability to restand your opponent, being able to pick any move a character has as their assist, and the sheer variance of teams and assist choices that are viable competitively, there is a lot to get lost in for Skullgirls fans.

Today, we have one such fan focusing in on one very core issue. Parasoul has a hard time squeezing out as much damage as other characters (for players unfamiliar with her optimal routes), so Noahidea made this helpful tutorial on using assists to boost her damage.
