Despite being out for a month by this point, the latest balance change to Mortal Kombat X is still ripe for experimentation. Through this exploration, fans all around have been posting tutorial and tech videos, showing off exactly what the kast is kapable of now.

Our first contributor ahmz1404, who has been consistently uploading combo guides ever since the patch. Here he shows us exactly how to confirm with Mystic Ermac and Tarkatan Alien.

We also have a Flame Fist Liu Kang combo video, showcasing some of this under-used character’s strengths with up to 71% damage combos.

Daigo fans may be aware of a recent piece of tech shown off in his “Research Institute of Ryu”. During the streamed sessions we saw a “Super Hadouken“, performed by plinking a normal Hadouken into an EX version, which seemed to evade attacks that would otherwise hit a normal EX Hadouken.

Below, TOOLASSISTED shows us exactly what is going on with this tech. He reveals that it’s not an amalgamation of the two hurtboxes or any such magic, as some thought, but simply doing a kara cancel out of the Hadouken. A Hadouken moves Ryu back slightly, and so does EX Hadouken, so plinking into an EX Hadouken gives the combined backwards momentum of both moves, allowing it to evade slightly better. This can be clearly seen, as a normal Hadouken has visible hurtboxes on the feet, which appear when plinking a normal Hadouken into an EX one.

The Smash community’s feature mod, Project M, enjoyed a very healthy competitive season this year with their Championship Circuit. After 11 qualifying events, the final tournament Olympus had some of the most high level play to date, vying for a $4500 pot bonus along with the prize pool.

CLASH Tournaments uploaded the entire Top 8 onto their channel, which features a great selection of hype sets. These matches are riveting, it’s definitely worth a watch.

The spookiest month of the year may be over, but it’s never too late for good mods. Super Smash Bros. in particular has a healthy modding community, between entire versions of the game–i.e. Project M–and basic skin mods, like we have today.

First mod is a Dry Bowser Clone for Super Smash Bros. Melee. Dry Bowser was an existing mod, but today he is given his own moveset and properties to distinguish him from the regular Bowser.

The next mod is Witch Rosalina for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, which is honestly quite bewitching. There are no gameplay changes here, this is strictly a skin, but that makes it no less enchanting.

For the last mod there is no video, but “Creepy Spider Lady” is the name of this next mod, which sees a particularly spooky variant on the classic Peach we all know and love.
