For the second year in a row, the folks at GameWorks eSports Las Vegas will be hosting the official Evo Pre Party. As the event’s name suggests, this gathering will take place just prior to Evo to help get everyone geared up for the competition to come. This precursor to the biggest fighting game event of the year is set to begin at 8 PM PDT on Thursday, July 14.

Every guest in attendance will receive the following (a $110 value):

• Unlimited Arcade time the whole night
• Unlimited eSports time the whole night
• Discounted Food and drink menu
• Free drink tickets
• Unlimited bowling the whole night
• Free bus transportation from a selected hotel (Westgate) to our venue and back
• Giveaways all night

If you’re interested in participating, you can pick up tickets on Eventbrite. They’re available now until July 13 for $40, but that price will increase to $50 at the door. If you purchase the ticket in-store (at any of their locations including Las Vegas, Denver, and Seattle), you get $5 off.

With this year’s Evolution Championship Series less than one week away, we’re happy to share the event’s tournament and stream schedules with everyone!

Of particular note is the fact that Evo will be running four official streams, in addition to the Capcom Fighters stream, for five total feeds of fighting game action. Due to popular demand, the number of streams dedicated to Street Fighter V’s top 32 has been increased to 3 to guarantee viewers the most high-level action possible.

Once again, this year’s Evo streams will be produced by Team Spooky and IPLAYWINNER. You can check out the full stream schedule, as well as find out when competition in your game of choice takes place, below. And, don’t forget, streaming at source quality will not require a subscription this year.

Evo 2016 is set to take place July 15-17 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The weeks directly before Evo are some of the most exciting for any involved in the fighting game community. With such a massive competition on the horizon, training, studying and discussion of all things fight-related are at a high while everyone waits to see who will come out on top.

This period is also one of the best for those of us who’ve put in hours of fighting to pique the interest of those who’ve yet to toss their first Hadouken. With that in mind, Esteban Martinez recently announced that FGC: Rise of the Fighting Game Community is now available to view for free on YouTube. This is the perfect documentary to help newcomers get a better idea of why the FGC is what it is today and why they should want to be a part of it.

The folks at Dell Alienware Japan are proud to announce that Naoki “Nemo” Nemoto will be flying their flag for future Street Fighter V competition.

Nemo is a well-rounded competitor with obvious skill in a number of fighting titles, but is perhaps best known (in recent memory, anyway) for his Rolento play in Ultra Street Fighter IV. His take on the baton-twirling mercenary involved rolls, wall dives and dashes aplenty; he seemed to never stand still. If you caught him on the right day, he also seemed never to block, instead opting to use superior movement to overwhelm his opponents and force them to defend or die–often both.

Nemo, an engineer by day, will be saving nights and weekends to throw down as the new face for Alienware Japan. He hopes to send a message that anything is possible, and skill in fighting games isn’t tied directly to the hours played, but the way played time is spent.

While Nemo has picked up Vega in Street Fighter V and has made his way to a handful of events, one can only assume that we’ll be seeing much more of his Spanish Ninjutsu in coming months thanks to this sponsorship.

Directly following the Street Fighter V top 8 at Community Effort Orlando, those tuning in to the Capcom Fighters stream were treated to a special presentation: Haunts took the stage to share Balrog’s Street Fighter V reveal trailer.

As expected, the boxer threw some serious punches in the footage shown, but sometimes a trailer just isn’t enough; that in mind, Haunts was happy to announce that those interested in pursuing their Fight Money with the boxer will be able to do so sooner than expected. Balrog will be joining the cast as a playable character in the game’s upcoming update–alongside Ibuki–on Friday, July 1.

But hey, why not, there’s even more: the trailer revealed the first ever look at both Juri and Urien as they will appear in the title. It was brief, but they both look to be very much themselves in this iteration. You can check out the trailer for yourself below.

Directly following the Evo grand finals on Sunday, July 17, the folks at Red Bull will be hosting an after party to send off the year’s largest fighting game event in style. This celebration, set to take place at the Luxor’s LAX Nightclub, will feature setups for Street Fighter V, Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U so guests can battle against each other, as well as the top players in attendance.

The evening’s matches will be streamed throughout the party courtesy of Red Bull eSports to make sure hype levels remain high well into the night.

VIP and standard tickets for the party are currently available for purchase.
