Learn to Harness M. Bison’s Psycho Power in Street Fighter V

You can’t very well be a true dictator without being able to strike fear into those who would oppose you. So before you hit the ring to live up to your name with M. Bison, you’ll want to check out Bafael’s latest Street Fighter V combo video.

We’ve said it before and we’ll certainly say it again, but the footage presented in this video represents a beta build of Street Fighter V. Do not assume any of it will carry over to the final release.

If you’re not into the whole Shadaloo thing, maybe some of Bafael’s other tutorials will be more to your liking. You can follow these links to learn practical options for Cammy and Nash, Rainbow Mika, as well as Necalli.

V-Ryu Bids Farewell to Street Fighter IV with Final Makoto Highlight Reel

Just under one month remains until Street Fighter V enters the fray. That leaves only a short period before players and content creators alike face the difficult decision of whether to focus on the new title exclusively, leaving Ultra Street Fighter IV behind, or to attempt to keep up with both games. V-Ryu, who has done their part in providing huge knowledge base of Makoto videos, has decided their most recent tribute will, sadly, be their last.

But this final tribute is a great note to end on. It compiles clips from online matches and tournament play alike, packing in long combos, resets on top of resets, and just the right amount of stun. If you’ve ever thrown a Hayate, be sure to check it out.

WinnerStaysOn Showcases More Street Fighter V Competition

During their latest broadcast, the folks at WinnerStaysOn teamed up with Capcom UK to provide viewers with plenty of casual Street Fighter V competition. This session, recorded last week, features a much newer build of the game than anything we’ve seen thus far, so there’s a good chance you’ll witness plenty of updated gameplay elements.

As you watch the footage, you’ll certainly notice F.A.N.G sitting among the full cast of selectable characters. Unfortunately, the folks in attendance were not allowed to give him any play time, so don’t go in expecting that. What you can expect, however, is plenty of character variety and experimentation, as players had the freedom to choose anyone else in the game.

As always, the footage comes paired with informative and entertaining commentary from producer Matt Edwards, Logan Sama, and plenty of other big names from around the UK. If you’re looking to get your Street Fighter V fix and learn a thing or two at the same time, this is the place to do it.

Capcom Picks the Best Timeouts (Seriously!) of Capcom Pro Tour 2015

So long as it’s not happening every match, rounds of Ultra Street Fighter IV (or any fighting game, for that matter) running until the timer ticks out generate a uniquely palpable tension. The commentary shifts, the crowds grows silent, and we may even find ourselves exploding with applause when Elena decides to back dash several times and pop out her healing Ultra.

With this in mind, the folks at Capcom decided to round up the best timeouts of the 2015 Capcom Pro Tour. While not the sort of content we expect to see in a typical highlight reel, the chosen segments–which feature Red Bull’s Bonchan, AVerMedia’s GamerBee, and plenty more–do an excellent job demonstrating just how hype an impending timeout can make a match.

Persona Pushes Mature’s Limits in the King of Fighters XIII

Just in time for the weekend, Persona brings us yet another finalized King of Fighters XIII combo video, this time featuring Mature.

It’s no secret that Mature’s special moves pack in plenty of corner carry, and Persona does an excellent job highlighting this aspect of the character. Most combos, on top of doling out serious damage, also see their target carried from one side of the screen to the other, sometimes they even make the return trip to their corner of origin, too–you know, for style points.

As with all of Persona’s combo reels, you can hit up the video’s description for full notation to give these strings a shot yourself.

Poongko and Momochi Invited to Red Bull Kumite 2016

This year’s Red Bull Kumite is still a few months away, but tournament organizers have already begun the process of filling in the bracket. Earlier today, Red Bull announced that Evil Geniuses’ Momochi, and r/Kappa’s Chung Gon “Poongko” Lee have been invited to attend the event. These two will be joining the likes of Evil Geniuses’ Justin Wong and AVerMedia’s Bruce “GamerBee” Hsiang.

The 16-player bracket will eventually be filled with 14 hand-picked players, leaving the final two slots to be awarded to competitors from a last chance qualifier. Unlike last year’s Red Bull Kumite, this year’s event will be held to determine the best Street Fighter V player.

Red Bull Kumite 2016 is set to take place April 23-24 in Paris, France. For more information surrounding the event, you can head over to the official Facebook page.

Mortal Kombat X Enhanced Online Beta Sign Ups Open January 19

Update: The beta sign up page will go live on Tuesday.

Yesterday, Ed Boon teased what everyone assumed to be an upcoming enhancement to the netcode of NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat X. Just a short while ago, the developers uploaded a video confirming the veracity of those assumptions. It seems the team has decided to revamp the game’s current netcode, replacing it with something more akin to the much lauded GGPO model.

Before implementing new netcode, the developers want to make sure it’s everything they hope it to be. This means they’ll be holding an online beta test–which is open to the public–to ensure everything runs smoothly. If you’d like to participate, you’ll be able to sign up to do so on January 19 by heading to the online beta’s website, which is not live as of this writing. Do note that not everyone who signs up will be chosen to participate in this beta phase.

The beta will feature four characters–Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Johnny Cage and Jacqui Briggs–and will request objective feedback from participants at the end of each play session.

For full details, be sure to check out the embedded video below.
