Late yesterday, the folks at Capcom took to Twitter to announce that they’ve got something special in store for viewers tuning in to the Street Fighter V finals at Combo Breaker.

While the Tweet leaves much to be desired when it comes to information surrounding the nature of the announcement, it’s hard to imagine that Capcom will be sharing anything other than news related to upcoming Street Fighter V content. While smart Fight Money may be on learning more about the upcoming iteration of the Boxer who most certainly has Bison Dollars on the brain, we can all hold out for learning more about the future characters we’re most looking forward to.

Ibuki, anyone? No? Alright.

Combo Breaker is set to take place this weekend, May 27-29 in St. Charles, Illinois. For more information surrounding the event, you can head over to their official website.

We’re soon to find out all we could want to know about how Gargos will handle himself in battle, but that doesn’t mean the folks at Iron Galaxy Studios have to stop giving us small glimpses of the upcoming character. One such glimpse went live recently in the form a video demonstrating his standing roundhouse.

The button, which surrounds Gargos in an aura of energy, looks to consume projectiles–at least those of the single-hitting variety. Sadly, the video doesn’t include health bars, so we have no way of knowing if Gargos takes damage–or perhaps recovers life–by dissipating fireballs in such a fashion. Though the footage is limited, the button’s functionality may hint at Gargos’ playstyle. A tool of this nature would likely work well with a set of abilities built around strong zoning options, but could also find a home in a slow-moving character with massive damage potential, offering him a means to get close to those who wish to keep his evil at bay. Of course, these guesses are only two possible options amid a sea of many.

We’re now halfway through May, and Killer Instinct players all have one question on their mind: when will Gargos be playable? While the folks at Iron Galaxy Studios aren’t quite ready to release that information, Adam “Keits” Heart did take to Twitter late last night to announce that we can expect to find out more about the upcoming character–apparently his personal favorite–on their stream this Thursday, May 19.

Going on what we know from previously released screenshots featuring the character, we can confirm that Gargos towers over Tusk, has wings, and may be in cahoots with Big Foot, as he has a habit of turning up blurry in images depicting him.

This isn’t much to go on, but if previous IGS broadcasts of this nature have taught us anything, it’s that we’ll have few questions regarding the nature of this new addition once Thursday rolls around.

Gargos is set to join the Killer Instinct Season 3 cast before the end of May.

Just over two months separate us from this year’s Evolution Championship Series, which is shaping up to be the largest Evo yet. But this massive event requires many skilled individuals in order to run smoothly; that’s where you come in. Volunteers interested in helping judge at this year’s event can now follow this link to sign up to do so.

Interested parties should possess a deep love for competitive gaming and be familiar with running double-elimination brackets. They should also note that judging for Evo is a volunteer position, and can be difficult work. That said, perks are available to those selected to assist with running the brackets. These perks include free food for the days on which scheduled judging occurs, an official Tournament Judge t-shirt for Evo 2016, and those who judge enough brackets will be given general admission (lower bowl) access to the Mandalay Bay Events Center for Sunday’s top 8 competition.

Judges are required to provide their own transportation and lodging. Those selected to judge will be contacted via email.

Unique names being tied to accounts on social media sites can result settling for an alternative account name because your preferred handle is already in use. One such instance occurred when the official Evo Twitter account was created. As many likely know, the account could be found under the handle “Evo2K” for a number of years; however, that is no longer the case.

The folks at Twitter were kind enough to relocate the official Evo Twitter account to the previously inactive “Evo” name. If you’re looking for up-to-the-second updates for all things relating to the Evolution Championship Series, be sure to give Evo a follow.
