Magneto Squeezes Out Some Serious Damage in This Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Combo Video

There comes a time in a fighting game player’s life when they need to take a break from their main character. In the case of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, this break can come in the form of subbing in a character or two to mix things up or maybe learn how to get around a tough matchup.

In the video below, Pink Lemonade does just that by benching his signature Trish for a point Magneto. The resulting team–Magneto, Doctor Doom and Shuma-Gorath–brings plenty of pain to opponents in the form of lengthy combos. Some of what you’re about to see may come as little surprise, but Magneto’s synergy with the metal faced dictator and tentacle ball will certainly show you at least a few things you’ve never seen before.

Lab Zero’s Indivisible Crowdfunding Campaign Receives Extension

By now you’ve almost certainly heard about the Indiegogo campaign surrounding Lab Zero Games’ action RPG, Indivisible. You’ve also likely noticed that nothing short of a miracle would have seen the game through to its final funding goal by the original date of backing closure.

But the team behind the game put in a request for an extension of their backing period, and that extension–a full 20 days–was granted yesterday. This means that backers and backers-to-be now have 23 more days to decide if Indivisible is the sort of game they’d like to feed some cash. As of this writing, the campaign has raised nearly $950,000 of it’s $1,500,000 goal, so they’re not quite out of the woods yet.

If you’re not sure that the game is worth your time or money, you can check out an early prototype on PlayStation 4 and PC to get a feel for what the devs intend to offer.

Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono and Tomoaki Ayano Heading to GameStart 2015 This Weekend

This weekend, top Ultra Street Fighter IV players will be throwing down in the Capcom Pro Tour Asia Finals at GameStart 2015 in Singapore. But apart from bringing tournament goers their penultimate shot of Capcom Cup qualifying spots, the convention may have a bit more up its sleeve.

On Sunday, November 15, Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono and Tomoaki Ayano are set to take the stage for what the official schedule calls a “Street Fighter V Producer Session.” This happens to be just an hour before the Ultra Street Fighter IV grand finals begin–the perfect time for a Street Fighter V-related announcement to get everyone’s blood pumping.

The exact nature of what these two intend to announce–and indeed, if they intend to announce anything at all–remains unknown at this time. With the days until Street Fighter V’s release falling away, we’ve got only so many (wildly) appropriate events from which news surrounding the game can spring, so it makes sense that they might have something to share. Stay tuned to Shoryuken for any details that the two decide to divulge.

GameStart Asia is set to take place November 13-15.

Vesper Arcade Breaks Down Dhalsim’s Moveset in Street Fighter V

Capcom recently released some information surrounding Street Fighter V’s first true zoner, Dhalsim. Now that the build featuring the fighter has had some time to circulate through a handful of outlets, we’re able to get a much better idea of exactly what to expect when he makes his return.

In the video below, Vesper Arcade pieces together footage from recent Winner Stays On sessions and IGN to give viewers a look at each of Dhalsim’s normals and specials, while offering insight into how to properly apply his V-Skill, V-Trigger, and Critical Art.

If you’re looking forward to punching opponents from afar, you’ll not want to miss this breakdown.

If you’ve yet to see Dhalsim in action in an actual match, be sure to check out the massive collection of footage from Canada Cup.

Lythero Lets Loose in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

The online experience for fighting games has plenty of similarities from title to title. Sure, the way in which characters choose to cram their fists into one another’s faces differs, but once you go online, you’ll invariably run into the same sorts of players: those looking to polish specific skills for when they take the battle offline, those looking to kick back and not have to worry about the stress of tournament brackets, and those looking to dole out stylish disrespect any way they can.

In his latest Super Smash Bros. for Wii U video, Lythero takes the fight online and taps into the power of some of the most crowd pleasing moves in the game. Falcon Punches and Ganoncides abound as he–and sometimes a partner–make quick work of all who oppose them.

LiangHuBBB Bids Farewell to 2015 with the Year’s Best Funny and Cool Moments

Just as they do at the end of every year, LiangHuBBB has compiled a collection of the very best goofy, great, ridiculous, and amazing moments from fighting titles both new and old that have taken place over the last twelve months. This compilation comes a bit earlier than we’re used to seeing, but there’s been no shortage of footage worthy of the LiangHuBBB name.

Since this is the first year that we’ve had with Mortal Kombat X, you can expect to see plenty of strange happenings from the NetherRealm release (double Brutalities, anyone?) but there’s also a plethora of clips from the Street Fighter V beta, Tekken 7, and Killer Instinct, just to name a few. Those who tuned in to earlier compilations this year will be sure to recognize some favorite clips, including a brief cameo by RZR|Xian’s cat and Evil Geniuses’ Justin Wong teaching the next generation of fighting game players about the effectiveness of zoning.

Did your favorite moment make the cut?

Clocking in at four minutes long, this combo video features no filler and cuts no corners, though it does have several corner-only options.

Be sure to check back often, as the folks at TeaMandem plan to release combo primers of this style for each character currently in the beta.

Catch an Early Look at Some Laura Combos in Street Fighter V

Sometimes, on the eve of a testing period–however brief that period may be–enterprising Street Fighter V players find themselves able to access the game’s servers before they should be able to, and thus get to try their hand at the latest beta build before anyone else. Early this morning, one such period transpired, and a handful of players were generous enough to put some time to figuring out a little bit more about Laura and the sorts of combos that she brings to the arena.

Below, we’ve included some of these early bits of fighting footage for your enjoyment, courtesy of UltraTien and Hurtbox TV. In addition to raw combo footage, you’ll also find a handful of setup options to sneak in a command throw or two.

PlayStation 4 players, don’t forget: you have this evening’s official stress test to look forward to. More details on the exact time we’ll be allowed to attempt to crush Capcom’s servers stands to be seen, but we do know that it will be some time this evening. There’s still no official word on the availability of this test to PC players.

Listen to Street Fighter V’s New Menu and Hillside Plaza Themes

Earlier this week, Capcom released short clips of several Street Fighter V character themes that we’ll be hearing both at tournaments and from the comfort of our couches for years to come. These bits of music each clock in at around a minute, and are a good way to get a general feel for how Capcom has chosen to handle the remixing of classic themes, as well as the creation of new ones.

Of course, some character, stage, and menu themes didn’t make it onto the preview list. Luckily, when the current beta build went live for a short period earlier today, ADAPT Chance was able to snag footage of the game’s new menu theme as well as the song associated with the Hillside Plaza stage, which you can find below.

Give them a listen and let us know what you think of these new tracks in the comments.
