Check Out Every Known Point Character Infinite in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Pat728 has been releasing videos in a series dubbed “Theory Marvel” over the course of the last several months. Past videos in the series tend to focus on tips and tricks for single characters, or the occasional system mechanic breakdown (like plink dashing). This most recent video, however, offers something a bit different: a compilation of every known point character infinite.

Some of these require more setup than others, and chances are the Marvel heads out there have seen some of the combos before. That aside, it’s nice to have confirmation that each of these can top out the hit counter at 999.

If you’d like to check out some of the previous videos in this series, be sure to head over to this playlist to have a look.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Receiving Tournament Mode, Replay Uploads This Friday

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U players have a big weekend coming up thanks to the next game update, which is slated to launch this Friday, July 31. While no information currently exists surrounding whether or not characters will receive any tweaks in this update–safe money is on yes–we do know that a new mode, the ability to upload replays, new stages, and new outfits for Mii Fighters will be making their way to the game.

First, Nintendo will be adding access to a new Tourney Mode. This mode allows players to compete in both “community” and “regular” tournaments, where they will battle for points within parameters set by the competitors themselves. It seems that Nintendo will also be hosting official events in the future using this free-to-download addition.

Fans of retro stages will be pleased to learn that the ver.1.10 update also adds in the ability for players to purchase both Peach’s Castle and Hyrule Castle from the original Nintendo 64 release. These stages will run $1.99 each. A bundle option will also be available at a cost of $2.99, which will provide purchasers with access to each stage on both the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game.

And finally, an update just wouldn’t be an update without adding some new Mii Fighter fashion options. The most recent ones come in the form of Donkey Kong’s King K. Rool and Fire Emblem’s Chrom. If a more streetwise getup suits your fancy, you’ll also be able to snag an in-game Smash hoodie.

Be sure to check out the slideshow below to get a look at the new content.

While this has only been announced by Japanese sources, it’s likely players in North America and Europe will also get their hands on this content soon.

LiangHuBBB’s Latest Comeback Compilation is Guaranteed to Put a Little Hype in Your Day

One of the most important aspects of successful fighting game play is the ability to maintain composure even when the odds are stacked against you. Being able to press on to victory from such a situation is a surefire way to get viewers on their feet. In fact, there’s likely a mathematical equation that shows a direct correlation between the severity of a comeback and degree of hype produced from said comeback, but I’m not much of a math person.

If you’re a fan of watching players pick themselves up with nary a pixel of health remaining to keep bringing the fight to their opponent, then you’re going to love LiangHuBBB’s most recent comeback compilation. This video, which you can find below, features a wide spread of games, including Ultra Street Fighter IV, King of Fighters XIII, and even old-school titles like Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.

As always, you’ll find a slew of pop culture references and variants of the Guile theme throughout the video alongside footage from NorCal Regionals 2015, Evo 2015, and plenty of other sources. Check it out below and let us know what you think.

ROB G’s Seth Steals the Show in Ultra Street Fighter IV

Watching someone comfortable with Seth work their magic in Ultra Street Fighter IV is truly a sight to behold. Watching someone like DSC|ROB G, who is not only comfortable with Seth, but who also describes their own play style as “stupid” (seriously, check out the interview) is even better.

While “stupid” may be a bit harsh, it’s no question that ROB G’s gungho approach to the game’s boss character demonstrates an aggressive approach with just the right mix of attacks to make each match worth watching. Below, you’ll find this mix-up mastermind duking it out with top online talent, including, but certainly not limited to, PIE|Smug, who seems to be a common theme in Olympic Gaming videos these days.

If you’d like to learn more about ROB G, be sure to check out the brief text-based interview in the video’s description.

Rising Thunder Gets the Doopliss Treatment During Alpha Access

The technical alpha test for Radiant Entertainment’s Rising Thunder kicked off today, and it looks like combo mastermind Doopliss has already taken the game’s cast of giant fighting robots for an extensive test drive.

While this is (very) early footage of the game, it does offer a glimpse at the sort of combo mechanics that we can expect. Among these, Rising Thunder includes a juggle counter to keep combos from getting out of hand. If you take a look at the video, it’s easy to see the necessity for a system like that, as corner loops are very much available.

If you’d like a chance to get your hands on this game before (nearly) everyone else, be sure to sign up for the alpha test by following this link.

Peach Footstools Her Way to Victory with Zero to Death Option in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Zero to death combos aren’t a foreign concept in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and it seems that Peach has recently found herself equipped with this technology.

Like many similar combos, Peach employs a host of footstool (toadstools?) in order to keep her opponents where she wants them and keep the hits coming. In the video below, My Smash Corner details everything that players of the princess need to know in order to efficiently dispatch their opponents through this method.

This combo has the potential to greatly increase Peach’s strength, but as My Smash Corner notes, it does require a long series of nearly frame perfect inputs, limiting its practical applications. And, as you may expect, it doesn’t work on the entire cast either.

If you’re looking for additional information regarding the nature of the combo and the sorts of limitations that it has or tweaks that it requires when used against different opponents, be sure to check out the video’s description.

RemyBleu Keeps the Pressure High in Olympic Gaming’s Latest Ultra Street Fighter IV Spotlight

Olympic Gaming is back with another Ultra Street Fighter IV player spotlight. This time, RemyBleu takes their Yun up against all contenders, but these aren’t just any online warriors. Players like Damien “Damdai” Dailidenas and the mayor of Duff City himself, PIE|Smug, also find themselves defending against the flurry of dive kicks that RemyBleu brings to the table.

As a change of pace from the typical online-only style of highlights that Olympic Gaming provides, this video also includes a couple of tournament matches to show how RemyBleu performs when the stakes are higher than just a simple ranked or endless lobby match.

Gouken Pushed to the Limit in Ultra Street Fighter IV

If you’ve been around the Ultra Street Fighter IV scene for a while, chances are that you’re familiar with the name cjbqulix. This combo mastermind has cranked out a massive collection of videos, often dedicated to single characters. In this fashion, their most recent offering features Gouken laying down some serious damage.

With no regard whatsoever when it comes to practicality, cjbqulix has included combos that take advantage of all of the sorts of things that will only ever happen in this sort of setting. This includes such things as taking a rose to the face mid-combo, eating a full turn around punch to allow for a stylish double Ultra combo option, and similar antics.

Not every combo included revolves around these sorts of mechanics, but even those that don’t push the limits of what we’d likely call practical.

These Azure Combos Will Leave Your Yatagarasu Opponents Black and Blue

Aspiring players of Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm’s Azure will be pleased to know that Sebastian Rikk has released a combo video to elucidate the best ways to pummel opponents with the character’s array of projectiles and flip kicks.

Of course, any time a character brings projectiles with delayed travel times to the fight, you’ll see impractical combos involving the use of those to get things started; this video is no exception. However, Sebastian Rikk has included a host of practical combo options can be employed in every match, all of which require varied amounts of meter.

Take a Break with Smash and Grab’s Ultra Street Fighter IV Glitch Compilation

Even though a finished version of Street Fighter V won’t be in our hands for quite a while, some folks have already started saying their final farewells to the current generation of Capcom’s flagship fighter. Whether such farewells come in the form of wrapping up loose ends on the tutorial front, attempting to bribe Capcom staff members to assure the inclusion of favorite characters in upcoming titles, or any number of other activities, we all have our own way of moving on.

CrossCounta, now affiliated with team at Smash and Grab, has decided to say sayonara to Street Fighter IV with a compilation of top-notch goofiness from the last couple of years. This comes in many forms: obvious bugs and glitches, hitbox and hurtbox oddities, and plenty more.

If you’d like to take a break from the competitive aspect of fighting games, be sure to give this video a view.

Some of this footage originally appeared in a three part series of videos uploaded earlier in the life of Street Fighter IV. If you’d like to check those out, you can follow these links to do so.
