Tree of Savior: Cash Shop Controversy Ignites KR Launch
According to a new report at Steparu, the Korean launch of Tree of Savior has come as a huge surprise, both in the fact that it launched ahead of schedule, but that the cash shop has come with some big ticket prices. For example a new hairstyle will set users back $17 or $25, more expensive than a real world ‘do.

Survarium: Latest Update Brings Christmas Raid Fun
The latest update to Survarium has been applied that brings the Christmas Raid on board. Players can earn a special camo and Christmas-themed decal, a Christmas tree, a 2016 symbol and a fire monkey. Players can score 2-4 level-appropriate toys at the end of each match. In addition, other updates, network synchronization, firearms training and much more have been added. To show off the major update highlights, the Survarium team has produced a video.
Camelot Unchained: Crafted Prey
Before I say anything about crafters I wanted to let the screenshot below sink in. That is a thick forest (an area specifically meant to push the system) with hundreds of players and bots (bots that were designed to be even more resource-intensive than an average player) battling it out in a game in Alpha that isn’t crashing. It’s holding strong and CSE has done very little optimization at this point! CSE finally hit around 3k before their physics system wanted to tap out.
Mass Effect: Andromeda: Development Director Chris Wynn Leaves Bioware
In a surprise late last week, the development director on Mass Effect: Andromeda, Chris Wynn, has announced his departure from Bioware. Wynn did not cite any reasons for the departure. Bioware issued a short statement that indicated they wished Wynn well and that ME:A is in steaming ahead for a (hopefully) late 2016 release.
Black Desert Online: On Gender Locking the Classes
One thing that everyone here at MMORPG.com seems to agree on, with regards to Black Desert, Devilian, TERA, and other imported MMOs, is that gender locking classes is an unwanted practice. As a player, you either have to come to accept it, or refuse to play what could be your preferred class. In a genre that’s original intent was to let you play the character of your complete choosing, locking classes behind certain genders seems in opposition of that intent.
Crowfall: Watching ‘The Making of Crowfall’ in Real-Time
For example, I’ve always enjoyed the Star Wars bonus videos that talk about how George Lucas found the inspiration for the films, how difficult the original movie was to make and the large number of creative and technical changes it went through. It’s hard to imagine Star Wars with Luke Skywalker as a 65 year-old general or Han Solo as an alien with green skin and gills – but it could have happened.
Albion Online: Why It’s Worth Being Hopeful for the Future
Albion Online is many things, but it certainly isn’t shy about its huge grind. In fact, where most games try to hide their grind behind neatly dissected levels and gradual spoon feedings of content, Albion displays it proudly on its Destiny Board–a map that helps you chart your progress through the game. “Look at me,” it says. “Look at how many countless hours you will need to spend to ever wield the best items in the game.”
