Over the last few years indie games have really made their presence felt at PAX. The same was true again this year and we caught up with one of the indie MMOs out there, the Repopulation. Read on to find out what Josh Halls had to say about the newest additions to the game.
During PAX Prime 2015, ArenaNet announced that not only is Guild Wars 2 (the base game) becoming free to play, not only is Heart of Thorns launching on October 23rd, but raids, legendary armor, and more are coming as part of the end-game experience in Heart of Thorns. We chatted with Colin Johanson and Mike O’Brien after the presentation to go deeper into all things HoT.
It would be difficult if not impossible to build any kind of reasonable case that World of Warcraft isn’t the most influential MMORPG ever. As it approaches it eleventh anniversary this November, it can lay claim to some truly enormous numbers. For example, in 2012, it reportedly surpassed $10 billion in total gross revenue. Last year, it reached 100 million accounts created.
Everquest II players with remaining questions about the upcoming server consolidation need look no further than the game’s official forums for a handy dandy FAQ put together by the Daybreak Game Company team to help ease in the transition. The Mortal Online team has sent word that the game is now officially available via the Steam gaming platform a few months after a successful Greenlight campaign. To celebrate, a new trailer has been released. Check it out and then head to the Mortal Online Steam page to get started.
Blizzard has teamed up with Twitch to announced the TeSPA Collegiate Hearthstone Championship that sees teams of three facing off against one another in an effort to win a share of the $100,000 scholarship pool. Registration is open from now through September 25th with season play taking place from September 28th through November 10th and the championships to be held in January 2016.
During this past weekend’s PAX Prime, several interesting tidbits of news for Trion’s game were released. We will be covering Devilian, Rift and Atlas Reactor, but some notable news was also released for Trove, Defiance and ArcheAge.
Fast forward to today, and we have the recent deployment of the v2.3.0 patch that is the largest to date and one that is packed with a new location, a new season tracker and Kanai’s Cube, a modernized version of Diablo 2’s Horadric Cube. What it all comes down to is that this is the meatiest, game experience patches in D3’s history, short of the RoS expansion itself.
The Gloria Victis team has announced that a new expansion has been applied to the game that includes twice as much real estate to explore, new locations to capture and upgrade, new town, new NPCs, enemies and more. In addition, backers from the "Count" level and up will receive a digital Gloria Victis artbook as thanks for their support.
Square Enix has announced the release date for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. PC, PlayStation 4 and XBox One players can now preorder the game that is set to hit live service on February 23, 2016.
