The Camelot Unchained team has sent word that the alpha servers will be open from today, Friday, July 3rd and will be open for 72 hours. Alpha testers and IT folks are invited to join the test of what is expected to be the final build candidate. If all goes well, Beta Backers will begin to be invited to join special events in the future.
The latest Hoard Card Pack from Wizard101 is named the Terror’s Hoard Pack, and I tore into them this week. I’m not usually a big customer of the Hoard packs; due to the vile hate the RNG gods apparently feel for me, I don’t usually spend crowns on them. At first I refused to buy them until they changed the name to the Alliance Card Packs. Then I realized it was "Hoard" as in "stash," not the orcs of Azeroth, so I gave up that idea.

Let’s do a quick rundown of what we learned at E3: Early Access is coming, and sooner rather than later, the game engine has been determined and revealed, and while no dates have been established yet, Eternal Crusade will be coming to Xbone and PS4. There are also new screenies and a new trailer coming, but those things are less exciting than the big three, which we will now look at a little closer.
Obsidian Entertainment, the Allods team and My.com have announced that the Skyforge open beta will begin on Thursday, July 16th. Players logging in during the first week of OBT will earn a free Mechanic Costume that will be rewarded after July 24th. When you think of Funcom, you probably think of dark, immersive stories and gameplay that is more adult-oriented, which is why LEGO Minifigures Online might have come as a surprise. The game, which saw its original free to play release last fall, is relaunching as a buy to play game today after many changes and polish.
Last week I talked about the lead up to actually being able to set foot into Heavensward. This week I’m going to take a look at some of the other peripheral features that surround that game as well as examine one of the new jobs that have made their way into the game. I’ll save the next two jobs for future installments of this series. I’ll still keep this review spoiler free until next week. Even then I’ll keep them to a minimum and clearly label them.
Daybreak Game Company, formerly Sony Online Entertainment, has announced the annual recipients of the G.I.R.L. Scholarship award. The pair are already hard at work at DGC, participating in a summer internship program.
