Everyone has a fighting chance
GoG.com has announced the formation of a "bundle tower" that will grow bundle by bundle through April 19th. Players will be able to grab DRM-free games for up to 85% off the normal cost. The ‘foundation’ of the tower has been revealed and contains some of the best RPGs ever made.
Today’s quest is a contentious one. On one hand Kickstarter has given us some amazing games in its short existence: Wasteland 2, Pillars of Eternity, Hand of Fate, and so on. But when it comes to MMOs, we’ve yet to see the fruits of all our money. And with the success of Crowfall on the platform, we’re likely to see more games go for crowdfunding. Our question is… do you back games on Kickstarter?
The Valkyrie, the female sword and shield fighter class, will be hitting live service this week in Black Desert Online in Korea. The Valkyrie is the counterpart to the male Warrior, though she has several unique skills of her own. Check out the game play trailer below to see the Valkyrie in action. Let us know what you think.
This weekend, at a Monster Hunter event in Japan, Capcom revealed a profound sidestep in the Monster Hunter series, which will turn players into monster riders, as opposed to hunters.
The World of Warcraft site has been updated with a first look at the v6.2.0 PTR patch notes. Fans and players will be happy to note that the next update will contain a significant amount of content, something many players felt was missing from 6.1.0.
Borderlands is one of those games that’s just begging for a full-on MMO treatment. I don’t know if we’ll ever get one, but hey at least China will. Essentially Diablo with guns, and showcasing enough character and class to deserve its own Telltale Games adventure series, Borderlands has been played and replayed by many of us here at MMORPG.com since the first game was released years ago.
Hey there MMORPG fans, Terry here, coming at you with a review of Neverwinter Nights on the X-BONE. Full disclosure, I have a couple of hundred hours logged into the PC version of the game, so there is not a lot here that surprised me, as far as gameplay and plot goes, but that’s really a GOOD thing, because it means that the ‘port to Xbox was done right!
Last week I had a good time explaining my extreme dislike for esports. Granted, I do not dislike those who enjoy esports just like I do not dislike the guy up the street who worships – almost literally – at the church of football. But, the organization and big money that esports really is doesn’t toot my horn. With enough money and push you could make professional nose picking a sport and people would probably dig it, so I just don’t see the value.
Fans of Forsaken World will be pleased to hear that Fedeen Games is bringing the MMO to both iOS and Android devices in the near future. Mobile players will be able to play Forsaken World any time, anywhere as one of the game’s five classes and be able to interact with the game world built using the same graphics as the PC version.
Buy-to-play MMOs are becoming more and more popular around the industry. It’s clear that free-to-play games are expanding and their becoming more and more popular, but they’re not the only alternative to subscription based games. Even for MMOs, options exist for you to buy the game itself (or a registration code, in most instances) then never have to pay another dime again, unless you want to.
