Destiny 2 Players will be Able to ‘Transmog’ Legendary Armors Starting with Shadowkeep

Bungie is overhauling the Eververse in Destiny 2 starting with the Shadowkeep expansion coming this fall. Essentially, players will be unlocking a “transmog” system that allows them to change the look of any Legendary sets in the game, a cosmetic option that is separate from the perks on gear. These “universal ornaments” can be applied to all Legendary sets coming this fall. “They override the look of your equipped gear while preserving the perks, mods, & stats of the original item.

EA Vice President of Legal Adroitly Renames Lootboxes as ‘Surprise Mechanics’

EA’s Vice President of Legal Kerry Hopkins has been testifying in front of the United Kingdom’s Digital, Culture, Media & Sport Committee on the issue of microtransactions. When asked about “lootboxes”, Hopkins came up with a new and quite novel name for them: “Surprise mechanics.” “Well, first, we don’t call them lootboxes. We look at them as surprise mechanics…this is something people enjoy. They enjoy surprises.”

What Are You Waiting For?

It’s summer. You know what that means! It’s way too hot to go outside, and the perfect time to play games all day (at least, that’s what I tell myself). The problem? There’s just not a whole lot I find that I want to play. So, that begs the question – what are you waiting for? In the world of MMOs, specifically, I’m going to rattle off what’s on my “do want” list, and hope you’ll join in me in needlessly wishing for games that aren’t here yet.

Viotek SUW49C Ultrawide Curved HDR Gaming Monitor Review

Last November, our Hardware Editor, Chris Coke, reviewed the GN32D 32″ Curved Gaming Monitor from Viotek. Priced at $380, he came away impressed. It’s literal bigger brother, the Viotek SUW49C Ultrawide Curved HDR Gaming Monitor, is a different beast entirely. Featuring an absurd 32:9 aspect ratio across 49-inches, it is easily the most expansive monitor I’ve used. But is the 144 Hz refresh rate enough to offset the low 1080p pixel density?

Shai Class to Launch in Black Desert Online on June 26th, Pre-Creation Event Begins

Pearl Abyss and Kakao Games have announced that the Shai class will be making its way into Black Desert Online on June 26th. From today through launch, players can pre-create and customize their Shai’s look. When the 26th rolls around, those who pre-created a Shai will also receive “an exclusive accessory, an in-game title, as well as several convenient items” that will help her along the way.

How Elder Scrolls Online Devs are Improving the Guild System

The Elder Scrolls Online site has been updated with a new blog post that showcases some of the changes coming to the Guild System with Update 22. Unlike other games, in ESO, players can “join up to five different 500-player Guilds,” the post reads. Each guild can be centered on roleplaying, trading, crafting or any other game pursuit. However, finding the right guild has been a challenge and is what devs are hoping to streamline in Update 22.
