Kotaku has a new report that Amazon Game Studios has laid off “dozens of developers” and that it has reportedly canceled a number of unannounced games. The news of the layoffs came as the gaming world’s attention was focused on E3 in Los Angeles.

In the latest Destiny 2 update posted to the Bungie site, devs provide a lot more information about the free-to-play conversion of the game taking place this September. When Destiny 2: New Light launches, players will receive all of the Year 1 content including the base game, Year 1 raids and both the Curse of Osiris and Warmind expansions. Year 2 content free roam activities, Strikes playlists, Crucible playlists, Gambit & Gambit Prime playlists and other “select annual pass content”.
A Friday morning is the perfect time for a feel-good story about gamers and gaming. A group of No Man’s Sky community members recently started a GoFundMe initiative to raise money to place a billboard within walking distance of Hello Games’ Guildford, UK studio. “Hello Games has put in a heroic effort to get NMS where it is today. As a community on r/NoMansSkyTheGame, we’d like to express our thanks.” Originally seeking $1,750, the campaign has raised over $3k.
During this week’s E3 2019, the Dauntless team revealed that it would be coming to Nintendo Switch later this year. We now have the official trailer for the announcement as well as the new Winterhorn Skraev reveal.
Now that the Fallout 76 free play event is in full swing, Wastelanders will be treated to double XP for their efforts in-game towards the end of the event. The full game is available through June 24th, with double XP kicking in on the 20th. The full game will be open to all players. If you’d rather check out the Nuclear Winter battle royale mode, you can also do so for free through June 17th.
