The next expansion to Dungeons & Dragons Online was set to be released on April 30th. However, a new note on the official DDO forums has announced that the Masterminds of Sharn expansion will be delayed until May 14th. The team felt that there were “several things we want to do yet, based in part on your feedback from Lamannia”.
Former BioWare and Star Wars: The Old Republic developer James Ohlen has been hired by Wizards of the Coast to head up a new development studio. Ohlen was also instrumental as lead designer and creative director on Neverwinter Nights and Baldur’s Gate. After he left BioWare in July 2018, Ohlen was working in the tabletop gaming industry at his studio, Arcanum Worlds. The new WotC studio will be located in Austin and will “focus on the creation of a new intellectual property”.
When looking deeper into the soul of Apex Legends it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this old school PVPer is feeling at home, it has everything I’ve always loved at a fast food place. Pearl Abyss has released a new roadmap that will bring “a host of new content and activities” to Black Desert Online over the course of the next few months. Throughout Q2 2019, players can look forward to new areas to explore, new weapons and mounts and “a brand new PvE experience that will enthrall the community as a whole”.

The Riders of Icarus site has been updated with the news that today marks the start of the Easter Day event. During the event, an NPC Bunny has hidden eggs in Hakanas and eggshells all around the game world. Players are charged with collecting eggshells to exchange for Easter Eggs. A number of monsters also drop Eggshells to help players collect the needed number to complete a variety of quests.
LeystTV is back with another World of Warcraft video based on the recently released v8.2 “Rise of Azshara” update on the PTR. One of the areas players can currently explore is the island of Mechagon, home of Mechagnomes that he believes may be one of the next Allied Races coming to WoW.
Tony Vazquez’s Titan Network is in negotiations with NCSoft about the creation of a community-run legal City of Heroes server. The news came late yesterday after a day of ups and downs for the community as the CoH private server came up over the weekend abruptly went dark. There is no word on when, or if, negotiations with NCS will wrap up, but the community is hopeful that Vazquez’s words ring true, “Things are looking positive, so stay strong.”
As a result of “prioritizing things like bug fixes, stability and game flow”, several of Anthem’s Act 1 Calendar Features are being delayed. This includes the Cataclysm event, the Mastery System, Guilds, Legendary Missions – Phase 2, Weekly Stronghold Challenges, Leaderboards, and some Freeplay Events. “We set aside time for this work, but the reality is there are more things to fix and improve than we planned for.” Ben Irving & Chad Robertson wrote.
Ring of Elysium has been updated to bring the Pirate Carnival event on board. Players will take “the battle to (and under) the high seas with Storm the Europa” while fighting for underwater treasure chests that spawn randomly, though at preset locations for the duration of the match. Other treasure chests can be found aboard the pirate ship itself and in loot crates dropped by airships.
