At the end of The King Of Iron Fist global Tekken 7 Tournament, Bandai Namco had a little surprise. A new trailer shows Kazumi pleading to a mysterious figure to stop her husband Heihachi if she is unable to do so herself. While you might be familiar with this scene in previous trailers for Tekken 7, this new trailer reveals the mysterious character to be Akuma of the Street Fighter series, starring in the update to Tekken 7 subtitled Fated Retribution.
The trailer shows off Akuma doing all his classic moves, Goshoryukens and Gohadokens included. If you ever imagined seeing a Raging Demon in Tekken, well, your wish is coming true. The update also features a number of graphical improvements in addition to new content.
While Tekken X Street Fighter might not pan out into a game of its own per se, it looks like Bandai Namco is incorporating the Street Fighter series into the very story of Tekken. This won’t be the end of the Street Fighter invasion, so look for more reveals in the future.
It’s time to determine the next King of the Iron Fist! The aptly-named The King of Iron First Tournament 2015 Grand Final brings together 27 players from around the world in a global Tekken 7 event, organized by Bandai Namco Entertainment. These players have their eyes on the prize, a prize pool totaling ten million yen, over $80,000.
The grand final event starts with the group stage. The 27 players are broken into 8 blocks. Players in each block face off against each other in best-of-3 game matches. The top player of each block advances to the double-elimination finals tournament. Matches here are also best-of-3, with the exception of the best-of-5 grand finals match.

It’s that time of year for Japan’s largest Tekken event, MASTERCUP.8. After three years of memories with Tekken Tag Tournament 2, the series’ eighth event moves on to the latest Tekken title, Tekken 7. With 187 teams, 935 players, this 5on5 tournament is incredibly massive, yet run entirely in a single day. If you’re craving some high-level Tekken, you’re looking right place.
MASTERCUP.8 uses a unique format. Play starts with the first preliminary. Teams are broken up into blocks of three or four teams, totaling 56 blocks. The first place team of each block advances to the second preliminary. The second preliminary consists of seven blocks of eight teams; the first place finisher in each block advances to the finals tournament.
The game isn’t necessarily over for the non-first place teams however. The second and third place teams from the first preliminary and the remaining teams from the second preliminary move to the wildcard. 123 teams enter the wildcard, but only one will survive to reach the finals tournament and complete the bracket of eight.
Three streams in three languages will be bringing you the action live from Tokyo Leisureland Palette Town. Game Newton will be hosting the original Japanese broadcast. Green Tekken will be providing a Korean broadcast, while the official TEKKEN channel will be covering English. Check out all the action on Twitch.

Arc System Works’ latest entry in the BlazBlue series, BlazBlue Central Fiction, is set to hit Japanese arcades in just two days, but not without a little bit of news beforehand. On top of additional gameplay systems and newcomers Naoto Kurogane and Hibiki Kohaku, Famitsu has confirmed that another character will be joining the cast of the game: Nine, one of the franchise’s legendary Six Heroes. This probably doesn’t come as shocking news if you’ve been paying attention to Central Fiction’s trailers and visuals, but those of you that had any doubts can rest assured.
Famitsu provided a very small screenshot depicting Nine in-game, showing that she makes use of a unique subsystem meter. Look forward to more info on how the witch plays when Weekly Famitsu drops on November 19, the same day as BlazBlue: Central Fiction’s arcade release.
