The ArcheAge site has been updated with a brief note from the new ArcheAge team to let the community know what it has been up to for the past couple weeks since the announcement that Trion Worlds had been sold to Gamigo. In it, the new team is working to ensure server stability, set up the new infrastructure and to deploy the 5.0 Update Relics of Hiram to the PTS today. Relics will be ready for players to test starting at 4:00 pm today and 5.0 will be launching on live servers on November 13th.

The ArcheAge forum has a new letter posted from XLGames’ Jake Song. In it, he mentions how shocked he was by the news that Trion had been sold to Gamigo but that he and the team will work with the new owners to “stabilize the game service & launch the 5.0 Update as quickly as possible”.

The delay for stability has also come at the hands of Monday’s revelation that Trion Worlds was sold to Gamigo. It remains unclear if Gamigo will continue publishing AA or if it will revert to developer XLGames.

ArcheAge players have an opportunity to have their epic stories immortalized in the game thanks to a new contest offered by Trion. Players can submit their stories of their battle prowess or perhaps a tale of a heartbreaking loss or even yarns about epic exploration or political intrigue while building their nations. Submissions have a chance to be placed as an in-game tome “for future generations of adventurers to read” and players will earn a special title for their efforts.

Trion Worlds has announced that ArcheAge 5.0 “Relics of Hiram” will launch on October 24th. Players will find a huge expansion that brings new locations to explore, gear to collect and enemies to fight. The anticipated Maledication skill set will also be part of 5.0 and adds 45 new dark magic class combinations for players to master.

Trion Worlds will be celebrating the fourth anniversary of ArcheAge with the Water Gun Festival to earn Kyrios Badges and Hiram Infusions. In addition, from September 12th through September 26th, players will receive a free 500 Labor Pot each day.

Trion Worlds is giving ArcheAge players plenty of notice ahead of a server “evolution” coming to both North American and European servers on October 17th to “better balance populations”. While the details are somewhat slim at the moment, the plan is to release a comprehensive FAQ sometime next week.

ArcheAge Senior Producer Merv “Khrolan” Lee Kwai has taken to the game’s official forums to reassure the community. Despite last week’s layoffs that included Associate Producer Seraphina Brennan and QA Member Jessica Price, and the unrelated departure of Community Manager Joe Brogno, the rest of the ArcheAge team is still hard at work on the game. “[E]ven during times of trial, we remain focused on the next big milestone,” Kwai wrote. More will be shared “as soon as possible”.
