Black Desert Online is part of the Steam Free Weekend and is free to play through September 9th. Players can explore the recently overhauled graphics of the remastered version and can leverage a sweet 50% off of the normal price should they choose to purchase it during the free play event.
From September 20-23rd, Black Desert Online’s next content expansion, Drieghan, will be playable at EGX 2018 in Birmingham, England. Players will get a chance to preview the new mountain zone with over 300 quests and the new dragon boss named Garmoth.
Kakao Games has sent word that the Black Desert Online playerbase has surged since the release of the remastered version earlier this month. Returning players have increased over 100% since last week and new players joining has increased 24% in the same time period.
Black Desert Online has been updated today with the newley reworked Savage Rift horde mode “that promises to spice up the exciting co-op experience in the game”. Notably, players will find that the number of monster spawns has been reduced to provide players with a swift, but satisfying 20 minutes of gameplay action. Siege weapon cooldown times have been reduced 50% to make it faster and more powerful to shoot “powerful weapons”.
During a live stream even held late yesterday, Pearl Abyss showed off the “remastered” version of Black Desert Online. The video was shown during a special showcase in Korea and is packed with sights and sounds showing off the new look. Viewers will notice a new UI, enhanced graphics, improvements to the story, a new hunting mode, a retooled Marketplace and much more.
Black Desert Online has been updated with the latest patch. When players log in, they will find the Saddle Up event that will run from today through August 15th. During the event, horse XP will be increased by 30% and players will gain more rewards for using Imperial Horse Delivery.
If you’ve been wondering exactly what the Black Desert Online team had in mind when it announced big changes last week to the Node & Conquest War systems, you now have your answer. The patch notes from today’s earlier update are now live and contain most of the information you need to know.
The Black Desert Online forum has a brief post to let players know that there will be some “exciting Node and Conquest Wars” changes coming to the game starting July 22nd. In addition, players are forewarned that both systems will be available through July 14th after which they will be taken offline for “a week of adjustments” before returning on July 22nd.
Kakao Games has announced that the Mysteries of Summer event will be landing in Black Desert Online starting June 28th. The event is said to be “heavily inspired by Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One” film. During the course of Mysteries of Summer, players will be charged with completing the challenges in a race to be first. There will be prizes awarded to those who are in the top echelons including an Alienware Area-51 R5 PC, ultrawide monitors, GEforce GTX 1070Ti GPUs and more.
When today’s maintenance is complete, Black Desert Online players will be able to enjoy a new event called Golden Goal. Players, through gameplay, try to collect a variety of colored balls that can be traded for a special Golden Ball currency that can be traded to Morco of the Crow Merchants Guild located in several cities.
