The Black Desert Online development team is back with a detailed developer blog to reveal some adjustments coming to the game, specifically with regard to PvP. In order to bring “a more fair and fun PvP environment”, some significant changes are planned for crowd control effects. As part of the larger list of adjustments, players will only be able to apply a debuff on the first hit and, even with that, there appears to be an RNG chance for damage, debuff, both or none to be applied.

Black Desert Online – Global Costume Design Contest Winner Revealed as an Amazing Berserker Armor
After a spirited round of voting in the Black Desert Online community, the winner of the Global Costume Design Contest winner has been revealed. The winning design comes to us from Thailand and is called “Berserker Jungle Armor”. The winner will receive $10,000 and will have the design implemented into BDO in a future update. Regional winners were also announced with each one receiving $3,000 and may have their designs brought into the game.
Black Desert Online – Fairy System to Go Live After Maintenance
Kakao Games has announced that the fairy system will be coming into Black Desert Online after this week’s maintenance. Players will be able to head out into the world to look for Laila fairies by completing a recurring quest. “Each can learn different skills that benefit their characters and makes life in BDO more pleasurable”.
Black Desert Online – Migration to New Servers & System Upgrades Coming to NA Servers on April 25th
The Black Desert Online site has been updated with a new post from the development team to let the community know that game servers will be brought down on April 25th to being the migration to a new service provider, Level 3 Communications. In addition, there are plans to “implement upgrades to systems”. Two other carriers will also be in place for support along with new security measures to help mitigate DDoS attacks.

Black Desert Online players can now start voting for their favorite styles in the Global Costume Design contest. Fans can start voting after viewing each region’s selections. This will narrow the field to the global finalists. The grand prize winner will take home $10,000, earn a special in-game title and see their design implemented in the game. Regional winners will each earn $3,000 and may also see their designs brought into BDO.
Black Desert Online – Big Changes Aimed at Reducing Player Stress & Inconvenience
The latest producer’s letter has been published on the official site. In it, Executive Producer Jae-Hee Kim details some of the changes coming to Black Desert Online as early as next week. “We understand that there is still room for improvement despite our effort to deliver the best gaming experience.” Kim writes. “We…understand that we must step out of our comfort zone in order to usher in changes.” From there, players are informed of a number of significant changes.
