This question is largely going to depend on whether or not you enjoy having alternative characters. There was a time when I did and in almost every MMO I’ve played I’d have one of every profession (or class). Altitis was very real in my household and even up to playing Guild Wars 2 I had one of every profession maxed out. It’s only in the last year that I’ve grown tired of keeping my alts up to scratch – the pursuit of gearing them out or keeping on top of their levels is exhausting.

Two new classes are coming to Black Desert Online’s EU and NA operations on April 20th. The Musa and Maewha (Blader and Plum) are hitting the live servers on April 20th in Daum Games’ next big patch.

Calling the Facebook post “We got creative with MS Paint”, the Black Desert Online team has posted a new image of the current EU/NA game world as it is with the recent Mediah expansion along with the size of the KR version and an even larger space called “future content”. The world as it will appear after that is added is enormous to which the picture below attests.

The announcement by Daum that Black Desert Online had sold 400,000 copies was quite a surprise. Not because I wasn’t expecting some sort of announcement but because the figure struck me as particularly low. For what could be argued as the last AAA title for some time and one that – seemingly – has been anticipated for an age, it’s odd to think it’s had sales of less than half a million.

After last week’s poll, Daum Games has let players know that the votes have been counted and that Auto-Path Looping has been enabled in game. This should be good news for players who have a regular circuit they travel and / or who want to loop a specific path while offline.

A new Q&A has cropped up on the Black Desert Online forum with answers provided by Pearl Abyss. Of course, the number one question on everyone’s mind is, “When are new classes coming to BDO?” The answer? “Soon?” The answer further elaborates that the Musa/Maehwa (originally Blader/Plum) will be incoming first with the Ninja/Kunoichi.

According to MMOCulture, Daum released some statistics from the first month’s service for Black Desert Online in North America and Europe. Included is the information that Daum brought in $12M in the game’s first month of release and that active daily users numbers 120,000 with 100,000 generally present concurrently.

The Daum team has a new poll running to see if players are interested in seeing an “auto-path looping” feature added to the game that would allow them to set a series of destinations on the map that could be followed repeatedly. A special option to have a horse “auto eat carrots” can also be added to keep stamina level. Essentially, this allows for AFK travel around set paths.

After many weeks of shock and horror at the sight of the in-game Black Desert Online store prices, I thought it might be worth asking the paying public (that’s you lot) as to whether or not you’ve parted with your hard earned cash.
