Over the past two days during the Black Desert Online open beta, much furor has arisen among players about the cash shop and its prices. Players seem to universally agree that the prices are much higher than expected particularly with a buy-to-play title. The controversy is raging on Reddit, on the official forums, our own forums and anywhere else that one of the most anticipated titles for 2016 is being discussed.

Combat is central to many things in Black Desert Online, but it extends well beyond just killing monsters. While some might find the lack of traditional endgame disconcerting, that’s only because Black Desert Online is much more akin to EVE Online than World of Warcraft. In place of a never-ending string of raids, the true heart of Black Desert Online lives within its robust and expansive PVP system.

Daum has published the official patch notes for the second closed beta for Black Desert Online. The notes come packed with information about things that will be available in game and with news about server structure, cash shop prices and the level cap increase from 50 to 55.

Getting a mount in Black Desert Online is, like most everything in the game, not all that simple. Unless you’re flush with cash and are willing to buy a horse from the market, or if you don’t mind the meandering pace of the donkey you’ll receive early in the game, getting your own horse is going to require some preparation and a little bit of luck. Fortunately, we’ve rounded up everything you need to set off and find yourself a black stallion to call your own.

Daum EU has released a brand new cinematic trailer narrated by Tay Zonday to get everyone psyched up for the commencement of the second closed beta event that kicks off tomorrow, Thursday, February 18th and runs through Sunday, February 22nd.

The Black Desert Online site has been updated with a new post with all relevant dates, times and links for everything a player will need to know from today through the launch of the game. Call it the ‘Roadmap for the Next Two Weeks”.
