The latest Conan Exiles newsletter has been posted to give the community a bird’s eye view of what the development team has been working on. Most notably in the “Current State of PC” section, information is provided about how thrall inventories are now out on Testlive. This will make moving and deploying thralls simpler by allowing Archer, Fighter and Dancer thralls to “follow” the player instead of packing them away in inventory.

The Conan Exiles blog has been updated with a new blog post that examines the most importance of keeping well fed. As a survival game, the need for food cannot be stressed enough. In addition to staving off things like death from starvation, keeping well-fed also provides buffs that can assist players in a number of ways.

This week’s letter is a doozy too, packed with information about what the team’s been working on as well as providing “state of the game” information for both PC and XBox One.

The Conan Exiles blog has been updated with a new post all about building. The article starts with the basic building blocks through the creation a hidden city deep in the mountains. Devs feel that the key to making something amazing is to ensure builders are using a variety of materials and structure types.

Funcom CEO Rui Casais would like to see Steam user reviews to be region locked. He cites that sometimes games get “review bombed” by disaffected users who may be having issues that are not present in other regions. Casais spoke with GamesIndustry.biz about a recent spate of “review bombs” launched at Conan Exiles by Chinese users as his case-in-point.

The Conan Exiles Facebook page has been updated with a brief note to detail upcoming plans to improve communication between developers and the community. Part of that effort will involve weekly meetings with notes taken and a community update posted in order to provide players with the most current information about the game possible.

When Conan Exiles leaves Early Access later this fall, Koch Media will be handling the publication and distribution of physical editions for the game. XBox One, PlayStation 4 and PC versions will be made available in early 2018.

Funcom has announced the release of The Frozen North, the first major content expansion for Conan Exiles. In addition, XBox One players will finally be able to jump into the game to try to survive the wilds.

The Conan Exiles site has been updated with a new creative director’s letter that lays out some of the major changes coming to the game with the arrival of the Frozen North expansion. The expansion will be released on August 16th and brings a number of feature adjustments including in character and content rebalance, a new UI called the Exiles Journey to provide a bit more direction; combat updates, AI & animation improvements, controls & UI tweaks and much more.
