Destiny 2 – This Week at Bungie – New Webcomic Series to Start with Fall of Osiris

This Week at Bungie is now available on the Destiny 2 page and features all the big news for the past seven days. A new webcomic series will be starting soon, the first “issue” of which will be an Osiris and Ikora origin story called “Fall of Osiris”. The story is being written by Ryan North (The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Dinosaur Comics) in cooperation with Destiny 2’s Narrative Lead Christine Thompson.

Destiny 2 – For the Second Time in Two Weeks, Bungie Admits to Development Blunders

For the second time in two weeks, Bungie has admitted that it is damaging its reputation with the Destiny 2 community. First it was the squelching of end-game experience gains, now it is the recent issue of locking activities behind a DLC pay wall. The Power Level requirements for Trials of the Nine, Prestige Leviathan, and Prestige Nightfall were raised sufficiently to exclude players without the Curse of Osiris DLC. “These plans”, admits Bungie, “aren’t working.”

Destiny 2 – Bungie’s Mea Culpa & a Promise to Keep Communication Lines Open

Rather than run a Destiny 2 live stream today, Bungie opted to post a detailed blog to provide players with insight into its lack of transparency over the recently discovered XP mechanic. Over the course of the last week, players have been loudly castigating Bungie for what it felt was a way to unfairly treat high end players. “Our intention was to keep slower-paced activities as rewarding as high intensity grinding without confusing variations in displayed XP values”, Bungie wrote.

Destiny 2 – Curse of Osiris Stream Canceled in Favor of Addressing Community Issues

With a rising tide of angry customers clamoring for fixes to Destiny 2, the team has opted to cancel tomorrow’s live stream that was to showcase Curse of Osiris weapons and armor. Instead, fans will “hear from studio leadership about their assessment of Destiny all up, they’ll talk about our goals for the game going forward and you’ll also learn about how we’re reacting to your feedback with some updates that will arrive in the next few weeks”.

Destiny 2 – Bungie Acknowledges Squelched XP at Level Cap, Vows to Deactivate the System

The Destiny 2 player community has been complaining via Reddit about what it perceives as intentional squelching of XP at max level when players earn Bright Engrams, essentially the loot box for D2. These can contain emotes, ships and sparrows. Breaking its silence, Bungie has acknowledged that this “throttling” of XP at max level was indeed in place and that it would be deactivating the system immediately.
