Everyone has a fighting chance
Beginning Tuesday, July 31st, Destiny 2 will see the start of the Solstice of Heroes when the denizens of the City take an opportunity to thank Guardians for “bravely defending them”. Players “will put on the now-broken ceremonial armor to remind themselves of what it’s like to not be invincible. During the event, Ikora Rey will provide players with a new event armor that can be upgraded during the Solstice of Heroes.
The latest Destiny 2 – This Week at Bungie newsletter has been posted with some great news for Guardians. When the v1.2.3 update launches on Tuesday, July 17th, players will find that 6v6 will be making its way to Quickplay and that Bounties, aka daily objectives, will be making a return.
The latest This Week at Bungie has been published to provide a look at what the Destiny 2 team has been up to most recently. In this edition, players get a forward look at a pair of feature updates that will be coming with Update 1.2.3 on July 17th: Crucible changes & Prestige Raid Lairs.
The PlayStation Blog has been updated with the news that Destiny 2 is free to play from Friday, June 29th to Monday, July 2nd. There will be no restrictions on the play with the full experience available to anyone taking part.
The latest This Week at Bungie newsletter has been published to review all of the latest Destiny 2 happenings. It begins with the news that Faction Rallies will be kicking into high gear again starting June 26th to see if Dead Orbit can keep its standing as top dog, or if Future War Cult and New Monarchy can step it up to become #1.
If you remember back to when Destiny 1 included character boosts, you may also remember that it wasn’t all that great. You could boost your character, but then have to backtrack to work through the story and added content to get your character ready to roll in the most current locations. When Destiny 2: Forsaken launches in the fall, it will also come with a character boost, but a much better one than its predecessor.

Bungie has released the name of the next Destiny 2 expansion. The “Forsaken” name was revealed in a brief Twitter post by Bungie along with a short video that shows Cayde-6 and the Guardian landing on what many are speculating is the Reef, the home of the Awoken and the first game’s social area.
The latest This Week at Bungie letter has been published to bring Destiny 2 players up to speed about the latest happenings. Most notably, Bungie will be revealing Year 2 content and features on Tuesday, June 5th during a special live stream event starting at 9:00 am Pacific / 12:00 pm Eastern.
The latest This Week at Bungie article has been published with the big news that the Iron Banner has returned to Destiny 2 for Season 3. In addition, a reprised version of the Bannerfall map has been added to the playlist “by popular demand”. It will be available until the next reset in Quick Play, Competitive and Private Matches.
