The Elder Scrolls Online team has posted a brief video look at new weapon ultimates coming to the game in Update 12. You can get a look at each weapon type’s ultimates and their morphs.

The Elder Scrolls Online public test server has been updated with an incremental patch that brings, among other things, the hotly debated Crown Crates into the game for testing. This gives interested players a look at how the crates will function and what items may be included in them.

The Elder Scrolls Online forum has a brief, but gloomy, message indicating that megaservers across all platforms and regions are offline ” in order to prevent further rollbacks and loss of character progress.” The message came after regular weekly maintenance and there is no word when servers will come back online.

Bethesda and Zenimax have announced the release of Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition for PC, PlayStation 4 and XBox One. The Gold Edition includes all four released DLC, a Palomino horse and 500 Crowns for use in the Crown Store.

During yesterday’s PlayStation 4 Pro announcement ‘party’, Bethesda and Zenimax revealed a brand new Elder Scrolls Online trailer to announced that it would be one of the first titles to fully support the Pro’s 4K. Elder Scrolls Online players can take part in an unusual event beginning today. In celebration of the first anniversary since the release of Imperial City, the team has unveiled a new event that will run through September 6th and includes a new Collector’s Bundle, double drop rates on Imperial City items (Stonefire Imp pet, Soul-Shriven skin and Tel Var Stones), and a 50% off the Imperial City DLC.

The Elder Scrolls Online PTR will be updated next week with the One Tamriel update that will go live in October. One Tamriel is an anticipated update that will open up the game without barriers to level. Players will be able to go anywhere and play in any order they wish while simultaneously having their characters scaled and balanced for the area.

The Elder Scrolls Online will be getting new Crown Shop boxes containing random cosmetic items in the future. The boxes will be for sale in the item shop and can contain mounts and other cosmetic items. The Reddit and official ESO forums are busy with debates raging about the merits of adding such a thing and with prognostications for the future.
