Zenimax and Bethesda are hosting a special extended free play weekend for the Elder Scrolls Online for players on PC/Mac or PlayStation 4. The special event opens up the full game without restrictions or purchase to anyone who downloads the game. Elder Scrolls Online – ‘Build Small & Specific Instead of Big’ ~Rich Lambert
During a Gamasutra live stream event held last week, the team interviewed Elder Scrolls Online Creative Director Rich Lambert. During the course of the discussion, Lambert indicated that the ‘big things’ coming for MMO development are those things that players are doing together and how they are working to build social ties. In addition, Lambert said that, rather than designing MMOs “big”, making smaller, specifically targeted MMOs is the future for the genre.

The holidays are coming to Elder Scrolls Online thanks to the addition of the new Event System in One Tamriel. The first event is Witches Festival that will kick off its spooky happenings on October 13th. Players will be able to take part in special quests starting with The Witchmother’s Bargain that transforms them into terrifying and horrifying monsters. Killing bosses while morphed gives a chance for a Plunder Skull with all sorts of holiday-themed goodies inside.

Elder Scrolls Online – Update 13 Housing Details Revealed
The Elder Scrolls Online Reddit has been updated with a first look at housing. Of particular and exciting note is that all players will receive a free apartment via a special quest line and that an upgrade to a larger home can be purchased with in-game gold. Houses are account wide annd new crafting recipes will be added for furniture items that can be sold on the auction house.
